<![CDATA[Diferences in the Qur'an translations]]>I have a copy of the Monotheist translation of the Qur'an and a Sunni one. Now, in the Monotheist one it says that Christians and the Jews will go to heaven(that's those who believe and I would say therefore practice), but in the suni one it says those who believed, not those who believe. It also says somewere that(forgive me for not citing the verses) tba disbelievers are those who say Alah is the mesiah,Isa. Now if they are disbelievers than how can they go to heaven. I understand that the original message that has come from the Isa is true but since it says that Isa is not the son of Alah than that means that we don't entirely believe in the todays scripture namely Bible.

Also for slaughtering the meat. The Sunni version says that you should mention the name of Alah while slaughtering but the monotheist version mentions just to mention the name of Alah.

Now, they can't be both right. I can on 't read Arabic, I would love to otherwise so that I can see for my pself.

Personally with the meat I think that the monotheist translation is direct because I asume there is a hadith on how to slaughter animals.

But the bottom line is that I dont read if speak Arabic so I need you to tell me. Which one of these two are Corect with prior monotheists and with the meat?

Also, I am preaty sure that Alah says in the Qur'an that he will preserve it. If so that how come there are such big diferences in translations? I understand that it is preserved in Arabic.

A help from Arabic speaking Muslims would be greatly appreciated.

You please start learning Arabic grammar. You will then be able to find that majoriy of the translators under-tranlsate the original text-I mean there is great translational loss; and many change the subject of the sentence as predicate and make the predicate as subject. Majority little cares for the Form and Mood of the verb to incorporate full meanings of the sentence-a verb is a sentence in Arabic. And 99 percent never care to incorporate in the trannslation what is elided in the Arabic text which is normal when the text is about dialogue and conversation between two, or when a fact or certain information is already known to the addressee/listener.

You brought up a Positive point, in that it really states in arabic, those who have believed. "amanu" means Have believed (i.e past tense), not those who believe (which would be "yo'mino&quot.

Now to your food Q, there is two instances one where his most supreme, High Majesty states to mention his name on the animals, when they're aligned (e.g ready to be slaughtered (?), and another instance where he strictly states to mention his Glorious Name ON ANY FOOD YOU EAT (i.e any food which has the Almighty's name has not been mentioned is techniqaly forbidden, meat or non meat)
and Do NOT eat that which The God's name hath not been mentioned, for lo! it is abomination. Lo! the devils do inspire their minions to dispute with you. But if ye obey them, ye will be in truth idolaters. (Quran 6.121)
