<![CDATA[The word Akhbar]]>Peace all,

As I was reading Edip Yuksel's Manifesto For Islamic Reform, I noticed that he said the word "akhbar" meant "narrations." I was always under the impression that it meant "great" or "greatest" as in Allah Akhbar.

I want to assume that the word has several meanings, but I know what happens when I assume.

What does the word akhbar mean?

Akbar is a comparative of kabir. Akhbar is plural of news. Nothing to do one word with the other.
