Not exactly. Moderate "water" is beneficial, is rain, but then we have to think about the Flood of Noah. Similarly, Hellfire is punishment, but a small fire like burning bush is a good thing. Moderation is what we seek, not EXCESS (flood, hellfire).

I dont want to go into the other symbolisms because this thread is about rain.

I do believe that mankind plays a part in the weather.

based on what enquirer said, water is the source of life.i have wondered though about droughts, is it really based on mankind transgressions?

my question is, does the weather change accordingly with the deeds of mankind? is this what the verse was implying? what i know is that global warming is a result of increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. the source of it comes from the gas trapped behind our cars and factories?

and simple, the verse 7216 is a follow-up of verse 7215 which goes
"And as for the compromisers, they are firewood for Hell.
And had they walked on the right path, We would have provided them with abundant water"(7215-16)

so really,my interpretaton is that allah is making an allegory which means fire for the transgressors and water for the righteous. from the quran we know that those who transgress are ther fuel of the fire of hell which could also be looked allegorically as similar to "severe retribution".

Rain symbolizes revelation that comes to you and makes you "plastic" providing the means for your CHANGE of behavior, not like the HARD HEARTED rejectors.
