I don't understand this - if a person is saved from Hll, doesn't that automatically mean, s/he is going to Heaven? I don't wanna sound it's like black or white but other then Hell and Paradise, what other places or locations are there mentioned in The Quran?

I mean, i'm just trying to be as informed as humanly possible.

If you continue reading the chapter untill the end, you will understand that those " who reject Our lessons with arrogance" and those who were asked "Of what benefit to you were your great numbers and your arrogance?" were none but the people to whom God sent messengers (Noah; Huud; Saleh; Lut; Shu3aib; Moses) and they rejected them with arrogance.

The messengers, and whoever followed them, are the people in paradise. All those nations followed one the other, and so the intermediate people could recognize them, and they could recognize each other.

I do not see where the intermediate people were admitted into paradise.

1 . "rijaalan" in this context could well be translated into "some people", that's not big deal. Does it make any difference to say they called people they know, or they called some people they know? Choose whichever you prefer. Is there a difference between (a person) and (somebody)? I used some people because it des not literally mean "men" as opposed to "women". Not all hell dwellers are men. Why do you accept "intermediate people" when it also says " 3alaa la3raafi rijaalun"?

2. The intermediate people are situated between the people of paradise and the people of hell. They are addressing some they know from hell about some they know from paradise. It is clear that both groups lived together and the bigger one swore the smaller one would not go to paradise.

4. So why are you pushing God in these conversations? Whom is God addressing? Who swore that the intermediate people will not go to paradise?

No, 749 is not the speech of the "intermediate" people but of The God. It is you who is "conveniently" making it the speech of the "intermediate" people.

In 748 the "intermediate" people are addressing the dwellers of hell (all of them). In 749 "those" and "you" in the first part cannot be the same group of people.

Also in 748, it does not say "some people", that is your twisting. The arabic clearly says "rijaal" and not "some rijaal". If 749 is the speech of the "intermediate" people, then who are the "those" ? As you can see, that becomes a nonsensical interpretation, so 749 has to be the speech of The God.

748 And the people standing on the elevated platform called on rijaal they recognized by their features, they said "What good did your large number do for you, or what you were arrogant for?"

All the red words refer to the dwellers of hell, and the blue words refer to the "intermediate" people.

749 Weren't these the ones whom you swore God would not grant them of His mercy? "Enter Paradise, there is no fear for you nor will you grieve."

Here it is the speech of The God; the blue "these" and "them" and "you" refer to the "intermediate" people, and the red "you" are the dwellers of hell.

Allow me to disagree with you. The intermediate people are the ones who say so. They are not the subject of verse 749. Did you "conveniently" ignore verse 748, which is the beginning of the speech of the "intermediate people"?

748 And the "intermediate people" call unto some people they would recognize by their marks, saying "Of what benefit to you were your great numbers and your arrogance?
749 Are those whom you swore that God will never show them mercy that "Enter paradise, no fear shall be on you , nor shall you grieve"?

What about 749, in which we hear that the "intermediate" people between the dwellers of heaven and hell are allowed to enter heaven by The God out of His mercy ? Did sis Samia conveniently forget about this sign ? So yes, there will be "intermediate" people but they will be allowed to enter heaven by The God out of His mercy

I believe we all accept that the qur'aan states that to go to paradise, not only should we avoid doing evil (which will take us to hellfire) but we have to do good deeds. What if you do neither, or your sins were such that they were forgiven, but no good deeds to take you to paradise?

7 40 -41 For those who reject Our lessons with arrogance, gates of heavens will not be open, and they will not enter paradise until the camel passes through the eye of the needle; thus We recompense the criminals there will be for them a bed of hell and over them covering of hell, thus We recompense the wrong doers.

742 Those who believe AND do good things -We do not tax anybody beyond their scope - those are the people of paradise, abiding therein.

746 And between them is a barrier and on the lead of "those who acknowledged their sins and were forgiven"/ "of those who know of people of hell and people of paradise"/ "the smell of hell and paradise"/ are men who recognize each (of the people of paradise and hell) by their signs/marks, they call out to the dwellers of paradise "Peace be upon you". They did not enter paradise and are eager to.

747 And as their eyes are turned towards the dwellers of hellfire, they say Our Lord! Don't make us among/with these wrong-doers!

I translated "a3raaf" according to lisanul 3arab, which has these three meanings, plus ("a3raaf" is a name of mountains between paradis eand hell,) which I discarded.
