I kind of had one of those ahaa type of thoughts today.

Alot of us have made known our discontent with not having our own community or society to thrive in. We have started thread after thread and asked question after question concerning starting and building a community or society for us as Quran Alone Believers to thrive in. Then it just dawned on me that perhaps we have been going all about it the wrong way.

Just Imagine for a moment if the free-minds website was Only circulated in one place and all of the members who post here were all located in that one place. Of course this is not the case. But imagine if all those who made their way here were all from the same city. What kind of community would that be and what kind of stamp/imprint would this community make upon that city?

I think one of the main reasons we are not a thriving community is because we have not put forth the proper effort to Build it. And the solution may have been right under our noses all along. All we have to do is go to the How You Came To GOD Alone category of this discussion board and look at the various stories of those who came to free-minds and to GOD Alone/Quran Alone and see their different backgrounds and journeys and avenues of discovering this place. Regardless of their backgrounds or the differences in their respective paths of getting here, they (we) all have two things in common. One, they were searching and Two, they have or had internet access.

Knowing this, I see no reason why we cannot build communities in our respective locations if we just make simple and dedicated use of the resources at our disposal. Why not print out and make copies of the different Flyers and Leaflets that are available and ready for use at the progressivemuslims action site? How hard can it be to spread the word to traditional muslims about the study tools assembled at Wakas' Site? Is it really that hard to print out and make copies of the leaflets and flyers for handing out? Even if you don't have a printer of your own, do you not have access to someone or a business establishment that does?

When I first learned of this site back in 2003 I only had a computer and nothing else. I went to the public library to print out the many different articles that caught my attention. AT the time they charged ten cents per sheet. I was making regular visits there to print out articles. THEN, after I became convinced of Quran Only Islam I printed the leaflets/flyers at the library as well and I was pretty active in making some copies and handing them out for about maybe a couple of weeks. I stopped bothering with it because I felt that it was hopeless and I was wasting my time. '( I also got frustrated and impatient because no one would immediately turn around and come to the quran alone.

That was back in early 2003 and now here we are in mid 2007. Just Imagine if I had been patient, dedicated, stuck with it, and not allow frustration to get the best of me. Imagine if I had put myself on a regular routine of printing out the leaflets and handing them out. Imagine if I had been doing this for the past four years what kind of community could possibly be thriving here in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Nothing comes overnight. To build anything solidly, you have to start small, be patient and dedicated, and grow it from there. If you are committed and patient It Will Definately Come!! I made the mistake of saying "all the hell with it" and gave up reaching out to the people. I have now decided that, GOD Willing, I will pick up where I had left off. I am not going to worry about the response of the people. I am just going to do my best and hope for the best. I hope the rest of you here are willing to do the same.

Here is how we can Build a Community no matter where you are located

Pick two or three of the leaflets at This Site that catches your interest and print them out. If you have a printer of your own, that will be good. If not, I would either go to the library or to a printing place that also has computers for public use. Print out a Master Copy of the flyers so you can just go to the printing place to make copies when you can afford to do so and hand them out.

Hand Them Out EVERYWHERE and to EVERYONE!! Not just the traditional muslims at the Mosques. Hand them out to the general public and in general areas. Remember, not everyone here started out as a traditional muslim or came through the avenue of traditional Islam.

I'd say the key to growing this community would be through the networking principle, where you find two or three good people, and those people each find two or three good people, and they, in turn, find two or three good people each, etc. Before you know it, momentum is building up and the movement is on it's way. I am of the humble opinion that we have way more to offer than the traditional muslims so we will have an easier time to reach the people in a logical manner.

As the momentum builds and more and more people join in the Quran Alone movement, they can all network with one another and work out an arrangement among themselves for sponsoring qurans for all the newcomers. Each new believer can join in the sponsoring mechanism to keep it going and making it so that qurans can get into the hands of all those who are interested in it and the message it has to share.

One last thing....Some people are honest and sincere and some people are dishonest and insincere. By handing out the flyers there are going to be some people who are not interested in this message and some who are. WE have no control over that. The honest and sincere ones who visit free-minds and the other sites on the links page may eventually make his or her way HERE to the forum where they can learn more and share in discussions. GOD Willing, the way GOD intends for it to work out will take place from then on.

Peace,
Damon.

Have you ever read a Jehovah's Witness's flyer? The language is easy for Christians - things like "Holy father in heaven" and "bread of my body and wine of my soul" mean something to Christians but to Muslims and others? Nothing. I read most of those leaflets and I can honestly say I have no idea what they mean.

If you want to invite people to Islam well, and I mean atheists and everyone else, leave the God bits out. If people see an exemplary system without a mention of God, then surely they would be inclined to learn more?

Especially language like "The ZZZZZ is the divine word of God, sent down in XXXXAD to the Holy Prophet YYYYY through the angel/spirit AAAAAAA", Islamic and Christian flyers are full of this, but would it make any sense to an atheist? No.

Just hand them the flyers. Very few, if any, would have the time to stop and argue with you. If they do, ask them to read the flyers first, or direct them to this forum.

Don't be like the Jehova witnesse, but like those who stand in front of the tube or on the high street and just hand out a flyer to you.

How about a small magazine or booklets with a few interesting articles that people can keep longer and not throw away? It is easier to dump a flyer in the nearest dust bin than a booklet (from my experience ;D)

Beause to the people outside of islam, you have to break all the false views they may have on islam. But they might have a right view on those who commit the acts against EVERYONE.

And then you have atheist. You have to prove them everything.

This is how (original) Christianity originally started off, small groups of people who heard the word. I have yet to explain to my family, however! Right now, I look like a bad Sunni Muslim - No praying 5 times a day, no uttering random Arabic phrases at every event that occurs, etc.

Anyway, I recommend "Think and grow rich" by Napoleon Hill, it gives a very easy plan to follow for success in whatever you wish. For instance, you lost out because of lack of perseverance.

003.200
SHAKIR O you who believe! be patient and excel in patience and remain steadfast, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful.

You will find the general principles of the book in the Quran, of course. The most likely source of friction to this kind of movement is from traditionalists, funnily enough. They see Islam as "their" religion. You have elders here, in London of all places, looking down on white women converts who they percieve as "unfit for Islam" - seriously.

Either way, I don't think it's the tools, they are always available. For me, it's the sheer thought of having to explain.

Oh, and this

I had in mind that, before going on to other people, i should be learning as much as i can and understand as much as i can before taking it to people. So far, when i brought the people the Quran, saying that God said in the Quran that the Quran is complete perfect contain no contradictions and all. A true believe man will understand that when God says it it means what it means.

Mmh yes it's good.

So i start to talk about the issue of stonning. The answer was "WHAET KIND OF SECT R U FOLLOWING THAR???"

I mean, if it's not in the Quran, God knows why. Why would the person think "ok some hadith said it, it must be true." while it's not in the Quran. It means hadith are there to complete the QUran.

While they say "without hadith you can't understand lliek the prophet".

Ok but how the prophet could understand that there was stonning in islam while there wasnt a verse on it?

So they end up pulling out the general stuff "obey Allah obey Prophet", like it's a verse allowing stonning, polygamy, control of masses...
