Last night I had a discussion with a friend of mine about Salat. I'm trying to absorb as much as I can before drawing my own conclusions. I've read the articles here as well as in other forums and books and I'm getting closer to finding my way.

I have a question for you

In our discussion, my friend mentioned an ayah, in which she couldn't remember the Surah, that said something to the effect of, "Salat is the one thing you do for God alone, because He asks you to". Although this sounds familiar, I can't remember if it was from Al-Qur'an or the Ahadith. I've spent some time looking for it and can't find it in either.

Any help will be appreciated.

Peace,
Tay
