Why worship God/The creator ?

Peace be upon all,

I have few questions which might sound weird but I would like to get some opinion from u all.....so here it goes.;

1. why do we pray to the creator ?

2. does the creator need our prayer?

3. Why does the creator wants us to follow It's message if our deeds doesnt affect It in any way while threatening us to punish if not followed ?
