Who synchronized the days in the week on a global scale?

Peace Maqx,
I am surprised that like almost everything that has to do with present day muslim society, why doesn't the muslim "jum'ah" fall on a Wednesday... howcome the mullahs have done nothing to oppose ISO-8601 rotfl
The current seven days week is completely arbitrary. In fact, the week was not always seven days. Ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians observed a 10 day week. So when Friday occurs depends on when the seven day week was widely instituted and which day it started with. Those two factors are completely arbitrary.
Peace,
Ayman

It was meant as light humour. In fact, Juma'h does not fall on the same day the weekend for other parts of the world such as Saturday for the Jews and Sunday for the Christians. If it would have been that way, it would have saved some precious time for people to go about their business in the muslim world. Just wondering why "Friday" was designated as "Juma'h" ... -
Peace maxq, all,
Just wondering why "Friday" was designated as "Juma'h" ...
Freija is the same goddess as the Roman Venus (Veneris or Venus day is Friday in Latin), the Greek Aphrodite and the Arab Allat (mentioned in 5319). Thus it is no wonder that sectarians who idolize Allat's black cuboidal structure and Black Stone also took the fertility goddess's day as their "Holy-day".
