Anybody know what David was tried for?From the quran!

3824 (David) said "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David gathered that We had tried him he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).
And was forgiven
3825 So We forgave him this he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful place of (Final) Return.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe it was him (David) passing judgement before listening to both sides of the story. Again, I could be mistaken, maybe others can expand on this.

O David, We have made you a successor on Earth. Therefore, you shall judge among the people with truth, and DO NOT FOLLOW DESIRE/LOVE/FANCIES, lest it diverts you from the path of God. Indeed, those who stray off the path of God will have a severe retribution for forgetting the Day of Reckoning.

The following is from the bible ? I wonder if it was this for which he was being tested and forgiven on seeking mercy from his Lord.

99ewes plus another one making a 100ewes?
99 wives and one more making 100 wives.

David got Bathsheba pregnant. He sent for Uriah to return from the battlefield, hoping that he would spend time with his wife and that could explain the baby away, but Uriah insisted he wouldn't relax at home while his fellow-soldiers were out fighting. David sent Uriah back to the battle, with a note for the commander to put him in the fiercest part of the battle.
A message came back to David some of the Israelites had been killed in battle, including Uriah. Once Bathsheba had mourned for her husband she was brought into the palace and had her child.

if it is then why in heavens isn't it mentioned in the quran which is supposed to be complete fully detailed?

To tell you the truth, I am not aware, nor am I interested in other stories of David from the bible or other sources. From the quran verses you have posted and others before, David was a messenger of God and was given authority and Kingship. He was in a high position where people would come to him with disputes or other problems which he would help solve. These two brothers had a dispute about their flock. One of them said his part, and David was quick to pass judgement before he heard the other speak. To me, that was the trial/test.

Now perhaps I'm looking into this in a simplistic manner, and therefore missing something about it. But I wouldn't go as far as interpreting it to mean 99 and 1 wives. Maybe that's just me. If you follow the bible stories to interpret quran verses, then that's really up to you. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just I'm not interested in taking that direction. And yes, i believe quran is complete all on its own. Perhaps others can help in understanding this story better.

3821 Did the news come to you of the disputing party who came over into the enclosure?
3822 When they entered upon David, he was startled by them. They said "Have no fear. We are two who have disputed, and one has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth, and do not wrong us, and guide us to the right path."

It is clear from "disputing party" that there are two sides to the story. "One has wronged the other" is an accusation, causing the dispute which necessitates hearing both sides of the story. Please note that the brothers are asking him to judge between them by truth and not wrong them, which is the test.

3823 "This is my brother and he owns ninety nine lambs, while I own one lamb; so he said to me 'Let me take care of it' and he pressured me."

This is only one side of the story. Even in this version, the brother with one lamb is not accusing the other of trying to combine or mix their properties but just taking care of it and then pressuring him to allow his brother to take care of it.

3824 He said "He has wronged you by asking to combine your lambs with his lambs. And many who mix their properties take advantage of one another, except those who believe and do good works, and these are very few." And David guessed that We had tested him, so he sought forgiveness from his Lord, and fell down kneeling, and repented.

There are 3 things that David did wrong here in my opinion

David didn't hear the other side of the story, thus he did not judge with truth.
David hastily passed judgment of "he has wronged you" without hearing the other side of the story, thus he did not judge with truth.
David misunderstood one brother's intentions of taking care of the other brother's lamb with trying to combine/mix the lambs.

Thus we can see that David did not judge with truth, and wronged them by passing judgement following his desire which was favoring one brother over the other by accepting one brother's version as the truth without hearing from the other. Thus he failed the test of judging them with truth thereby wronging them, which was exactly what the brothers requested him not to do in the beginning.

This would explain the following

3826 O David, We have made you a successor on Earth. Therefore, you shall judge among the people with truth, and do not follow desire, lest it diverts you from the path of God. Indeed, those who stray off the path of God will have a severe retribution for forgetting the Day of Reckoning.

David was, however, forgiven by The God following his sincere repentance, which shows the Merciful and Forgiving attributes of The God in response to sincere repentance

3824 ................... And David guessed that We had tested him, so he sought forgiveness from his Lord, and fell down kneeling, and repented.
3825 So We forgave him in this matter. And for him with Us is a near position, and a beautiful abode.
