CAN Jinn be Aliens?
-
Peace "mr.humble",
have you read arnoldyasin's article on jinns? that jinns have illuminated meanings based on quranic context and verse? it is possible that they could be aliens but al the verses you have described could be redirectd to human ego? no?
peace, rifatJK- Yes i know of bro Arnold's article regarding this but i dont agree. It is complicating matters while this is a much simpler expplanation in my view. Also from the above verses i cannot see how "jinn" has anything to do with human ego, for which the quran has used another term as well i.e. "nafs". Moreover the "jinn" themselves claim that amongst them are some righteous and others non righteous
" `SOME OF US are righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow various paths.
GOD Bless! -
salaam Jonny k,
the thing is i was basing my post on this inference,
"jinn are created from smokeless fire" -Layth arnoldyasin explains that the fire is "hell" experienced by humans in earth, (like when we get enraged). likewise, heaven is a mental state of utopia(happiness). i am not saying you are wrong, but you might be right about aliens being jinns since it compromises with the description "hidden beings". and it fits with the description of the quran and the context of verses you have provided. the reaon why i do not completely agree with this interpretation is that if jinn are aliens and if "iblis" is the their leader, then what is "shaitan/satan". does it say in the quran that the iblis is the leader of the tribasl jinn? because if the jinn are a complete seperate species from us, then who is shaitan, would that be human Ego? i do not know much about this(even i read arnold's article and i would like your input please.
peace, rifat

JK- there are various types of "shaitaan" or devils/evil ones. "shaitan" can be common and specific depending on the context. As ive seen whenever GOD says "ASshaitaan" with the muarifah he means the Jinn Iblees but then GOD also talks abt other shayateen and those are evil ones in genreal and can be BOTH from amongst jinn and mankind. GOD Bless!

GOD Bless! No you have NOT read my article Jonny, otherwise you would have known I say the Jinn mean several things. If you would really have read my article you would not have asked the above questions. Also mr.Humble, human ego is only ONE meaning of the SEVERAL meanings of Jinn. I have discussed Surah 72 and show these Jinn were Christian Nomads. The meaning of Jinn depends on the context of the verses.
Jinn as given in the Quran--the MULTIPLE meanings and uses
Here is the conclusion of my article
"Conclusion.
I have tried my best to give make an as clear answer as I can from the Quran itself. I believe, I have proven that the word jinn, doesnt has a fixed meaning, as it is depended on the context of the verses. We have come across the meanings as ego, desires, fantasies, bad/evil thoughts, emotions as hate, anger. Humans living out of direct view of the more populated societies, as nomads, people living in jungles. People working behind the scenes in politics, rulers of nations or religious groups, intelligent people that
live secluded. Monks, nuns, hermits. Bums, top criminals, people living maybe in a city, but are not part of its system. People living in secluded villages or societies and so on. People of the past, legends. Ancestors, imaginary idols, peerless people. More ideas can come up, as the word jinn is versatile in its applying. But I hope to have broken the myth of the invisible spirits, as these are not given in the Quran. I admit, they are also not denied, as they can fall under the term hidden, but there has been no verses given at all, that give any clue of their existence. The rule I applied here, is looking for the meanings of words, through text analysis, instead of applying given fixed title meanings, is in my eyes, the true key to the Quran, the Reading, as it will give wider understandings, in words as Djenna, Jahannam, mailik-ah and so on. More research must be done, may God accept this work. All faults are of my own. May this be the start.." -
The link between jinn=fire and humans=matter, is to always be found together. As shows that only the concealed things, the inner sides of the psyche, that were created with mankind, are made out of fire, symbolically referring to the nature of these desires, emotions and ego, what we refer to as the destructive side of man. See also; 5514-15, 3871-85.
Explaining thus, that it is only this jinn , Iblis, that is made out of fire, and not all jinns mentioned in the Quran. This is really important if we want to move on to understand the other uses for Jinn inside the Quran. As can been seen as how the shaitan/iblis is used in the Quran, that it are perfect examples of how the ego and bad emotions as lust, hate and anger work. Also one of the important explanations is verse 2137, where the term; KHULIQAL insanu MIN ajal, literaly means; He created man out of haste. As we know it took millions of years to create man, and Allah has no haste. So the clear understanding is Man has been created with a tendency to be hasty and looking for instant gains or results.
Such is the case with KHULAQAL jaanna MIN marijin MIN naar; Which thus means He created the concealed sides of man with a fiery disposition(fire). Which is a perfect description of our emotions. Also prehistoric man can be called jinn, as he is concealed by time. And we know the behaviour of prehistoric man had also a fiery temper as he was still more animal like.

Peace bro "Arnold",
I have discussed Surah 72 and show these Jinn were Christian Nomads. The meaning of Jinn depends on the context of the verses.
JK- Ok but that doesnt solve my problem. Since if those Christian Nomads were human beings why did they have to tell Muhammad that some of them are righteous and some are not? Muhammad was not stupid that he didnt know that all human beings share this property and that there are even Christians which can be righteous as per 262 and others. This only makes sense if a species unkown came to him or how do you explain that? GOD Bless!
-
They were describing humankind in general. Allah also says not everyone will believe, we know this already, but still He mentions it. Same here. The nomads describe humankind in a most beautifull matter.
" `SOME OF US are righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow various paths.
What a most beautiful way to describe humankind. It shows we decide our own paths, and that we are not inherently evil, but by choice.

Peace "phoenix",
peace JK,
All living beings are made of water.
JINN are made of smokeless fire.
enough said.JK- 1) I never said "Jinn" were living things in the classical sense since they aint according to my understanding of the Quran. This doesnt mean they cant be seprate intelligent beings. 2) There could be another explanation of how water and fire could coexist in the same body, since there is a type of flame even divers use today underwater, so a Jinn's body could consist of the base substance water and an additonal one which is smokeless fire. GOD Bless!

JK- I must admit that this does make sense. I ignored the other verses in this case(like 1040) showing that GOD reinforces known truth which could be pushed into subconscious at times and here this also could be the case. However there are still verses which bother me in the same sura 72 where the Jinn say
"We touched the heaven and found it filled with formidable guards and projectiles. "We used to sit there in order to spy. Anyone who listens is pursued by a powerful projectile.
This sounds like whilst they tried to travel out of the solar system the asteroid belt prevented them from doing so, thus making them alien beings once more. Then we have another verse
As for the jinn, we created them, before that(before humans), from blazing fire.
So again this indicates theyr separate beings. Then we see enormous super human abilities as in
One afrit from the jinns said, "I can bring it to you before you stand up. I am powerful enough to do this."
GOD Bless! -
It is a long path of understanding bro. Take your time, but first read an article for real before judging it So please take the effort by reading the article, I discuss EVERY verse that uses Jinn. No need for posting questions to me.
Click here for the book "Jinn as understood by the Quran--discussing all verses
"
We touched the heaven and found it filled with formidable guards and projectiles. "We used to sit there in order to spy. Anyone who listens is pursued by a powerful projectile. This clearly talks about Astrology that was done by Christian monks. They were famous for it. Monks lived secluded in the desert and were rarely visited and never seen by people=jinn. People went to them for advice and also for their thinkings on what the stars said. The Jews in Arabia did the same using Qabalah. These verses talk about their amazement of the complexity of the Universe. They used to believe it foretold the future, but following their conjecture gave them only bad results. The consequences of their conjecture came back at them like a powerful projectile.
This sounds like whilst they tried to travel out of the solar system the asteroid belt prevented them from doing so, thus making them alien beings once more.
You believe 'plasma beings' are stopped by this? Or that Aliens spy? There are much more simpler explanations right in front of you.
As for the jinn, we created them, before that(before humans), from blazing fire.
The link between jinn=fire and humans=matter, is to always be found together. As shows that only the concealed things, the inner sides of the psyche, that were created with mankind, are made out of fire, symbolically referring to the nature of these desires, emotions and ego, what we refer to as the destructive side of man. As the above verse talks about before mankind, it thus talks most likely about prehistoric man when it was still more animal-like. And thus this verse is part of the cycle of creation of mankind.
One afrit from the jinns said, "I can bring it to you before you stand up. I am powerful enough to do this"
The Jinns of Solomon.
These next verses are very important as to prove the right understanding of how the word jinn, is meant differently throughout the Quran. First lets read the verses
- Solomon was heir to David, and he said "O people, we have been taught the language of Tair, and have been given of everything. This is a clear favour indeed." 17. His armies of jinns (nomads, tribes, people from rarely seen societies) and men and Tair assembled, formed into ranks, (and marched) 18. Till they reached the Valley of Naml. Said the lady of Naml "O Naml, go into your dwellings lest Solomon and his hordes should crush you unawares." 19. (Solomon) smiled, amused at her speech, and said "O Lord grant me that I should be grateful for the favours You have bestowed on me and my parents, and do good things of Your pleasing; and admit me among Your righteous devotees by Your grace."
The story of the ants and the bird is very intriguing. It has 2 approaches which will be given here. Since words have more then one meaning or background it is interesting what people choose sometimes, and have a distorted idea of a meaning. The Arabic naml, means ants, but was also the name of a tribe in Syria, even ibn Kathir who is so wrong on 80% of his explanations on the Quran, noted this fact. In his tafseer, he identifies, namlat, the lady of Naml, as belonging to the tribe of Banu Shisan. So it is the tribe that was scared of Solomon's army.
Also on the story of the 'bird' that comes in the verses after that, the arabic word hud-hud, means hoopoe, but again was also the name of a South Yemen tribe, and men were often named after their tribes as well as birds. The King of Himjar was called Hoedad; in the Bible, the king of Syria is called Ben Hadad (see 1 Kings 151. Also a very important notion is the fact that the bird Hoopoe is not build for long flights, and that Solomon would threaten a small bird with such a punishment, as cutting the throat of such a small bird is a precise job. Tair is commonly used for birds, but is also applied to non-winged beings, tayyar means fleet-flooted horse, and at-tairan is metaphorically used for marching to jihad.
When Solomon says that they had been taught the language of tair, he uses the word mantiq which is used for human speech or logic, and man alone of all created beings is called haivani-natiq, speaking animal, the language of birds is called saut. The intention behind the use of tair, as of jinn cannot be disregarded. The Tair were a conquered tribe or race and Solomon had knowledge of their language. Important note is that Solomon clearly says, that everyone of his people was taught the language Tair, not just him. So it cant denote a prophets miracle as this is the traditional view.
Similarly jinns applies here to the nomadic tribes many of whom were recruited by the king of Tyre for Solomon, (see the Bible, chapter Kings 1,5.) So they were called not seen ones, because they came from a land and people that were not seen normally. So it refers to where they come from, not the direct situation of if they were seen or not seen at that moment by Solomon and his people. And by thus refers to foreigner/stranger. So their country and people are jinn for Solomon and his people, making them called jinns. It was by the hand of Hud-hud that brought the letter(kitab=writing) to Sheba, and he was the one who brought the throne to Solomon, here we have to understand that in the Quran, all the thrones mentioned is used symbolic, as with the Throne of God, meaning the Power/authority of God, same is here, where Solomon was brought knowledge about the 'power', or as to say how her government, how her power was in her kingdom.
- When he reviewed the Tair, he said "How is it I do not see Hud-hud? Is he absent? 21. I will punish him severely, or cut his throat, unless he bring a valid excuse." 22. But he was not long in coming, and reported "I have been around where you have not been. I come from Saba with positive news.
- (Solomon) said 'We shall see if you speak the truth or you are a liar. 28. Take this letter from me, and deliver it to them and withdraw, then see what reply they give in return."
- So, when the envoys came to Solomon he said "Do you wish to increase my wealth? Yet what God has given me is better than what He has given you. No. Be gratified in your present. 37. Go back to them. We shall soon come with our armies which they will not be able to face. We shall drive them out of (the land) with ignominy, and they will be humbled." 38. He (then) said (to his courtiers) "O you nobles, is there any one who can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?" 39. A crafty jinn (intelligent person, tribesleader, person of leadership) said "I will bring it before you rise from your seat, for I am strong and trustworthy." 40. But one who had knowledge of the letter, said "I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye." When Solomon saw it before him, (he said) "This is by the grace of my Lord that He may test me whether I am grateful or I am thankless. Yet if one is grateful, he is grateful for himself, and if one is thankless, then surely my Lord is unconcerned and magnanimous." 41. (Turning to his nobles) he said "Change the appearance of her throne. Let us see if she is rightly guided, or is not guided at all."
This understanding clearly changes again the whole concept and understanding of jinn, and proves the word is used differently, based on the context. It is interesting to note the power of suggestion as a lot of the claimed powers of the mythological invisible spirits, come from these verses. As here the jinn says that he will bring the throne in a blink of an eye, and by thus people believe the jinn are as fast as light. When in normal life, people would say this, no-one will believe you do it in a blink of an eye, they know it is just an expression. But with the expressions used in the Quran, people do take it seriously. This contradicting behavior with interpretation can be seen with a lot of interpretations of the Quran. Here the jinn says, Ill bring it before you rise from your seat, which is clearly just meant as an expression.

Peace bro "Arnold",
Well i must admit youve explained everything in that article or almost if ive missed something. Before i go on however i just wanted to clarify that i never believed Jinn to be spiritual beings since i always explain things causally. I believed them to be natural beings obeying the laws set in the universe also. All that i would ask now is what made you believe that Jinn are not some Alien or plasma beings? Wouldnt the discovery of that being true add much more credibility to those stamements in the Quran? GOD Bless! -
Salaam,
Because the Quran doesn't use titles, but descriptions which are wide in its use. Also there is no logic in invisible beings or aliens, that would be based on conjecture. There are far more logical explanations to be found right in front of us, but people are more inclined to the unlikely explanations as mankind is inherent to deviade from Reality.
Also, that would not strengthen the Quran at all. There are thousands of people saying the same thing. All religions on earth believe in spirits and so on. The Quran has all the proofs it needs. To say this would 'strenghten' it is a bit naieve thinking in my eyes. -

And i need to repeat myself I NEVER CLAIMED JINN TO BE SPIRITS OF ANY SORT SO THAT IS OUT OF QUESTION. GOD Bless!

Peace bro "Arnold",
Ive read your Jinn article. One of the things you mention is that "iblees" is not a separate entity as people hav done to make the evil into a seprate entity. But i never thought on those lines. I understood from the Quran that GOD created various creatures and one were the Jinn, who were separete, yes, but they wernt evil or good but chose to be so just as we do. I absolutely would have no argument tht Jinn have complete freedom of choice like humans do. However i also believe that Jinn can like parasites manipulate the human brain and thus cause hell lot of trouble. I still believe doing research in this area could lead to positive results. I dont believe in some spirit controlling the mind but that those beings, being themlves physical, cause some physical effect on the brain which leads to many of what we call diseases. Also is it not possible that these aliens can control parasites or any eukaryote microorganisms for that matter by interacting with them through release of their plasma particles and thus not directly manipulating our brain but doing so through those eukaryote evolved microorganisms? Wht do you say abt tht? GOD Bless! -
peace JK,
As I see it, the quran says that jinn are made of fire for a reason.
If jinn=emotions, then our emotions are like fire.
Fire, when in the form of a controlled flame, is good for us. We can use it and benefit from it. But when fire gets out of control, it can harm us (big time), and we burn. When our emotions control us, (like satan overpowering Adam) and blind our reasoning, then we do bad things, and when we do bad things we burn in hell (fire). There are no beings or parasites that make us do bad things. WE ourselves do bad things by making the choice of being slaves to our emotions and desires.

There are no beings or parasites that make us do bad things. WE ourselves do bad things by making the choice of being slaves to our emotions and desires.
JK- Oh yes there can be. Many people do strange things or become schizophrenic because of some parasites entering the brain causing neural malfunction. This much is well known. Also ive seen a deocumentary where brain cancer caused a man to engage in uncontrolled sexual behaviour. He even had sex with his own step daughter when his wife left him. He was later diagnosed with brain tumor and when cured he didnt commit those things, sometime after tht the cancer returned and he started his acts again. So we can clearly see how cancer and other parasites and viruses disturb normal brain function making us do deeds we wouldnt do otherwise. GOD Bless!
