    Salaam

It is God's system in case of Pregnancy.

If the waiting period was not there and the woman remarried and got pregnant immediately, one would not know who the father is. (Ofcourse it is possible today)

The Father is made responsible for the Child and hence it is not really an advantage.

    2228
The divorced women shall wait three menstruations (before marrying another man). It is not lawful for them to conceal what GOD creates in their wombs, if they believe in GOD and the Last Day. (In case of pregnancy,) the husband's wishes shall supersede the wife's wishes, if he wants to remarry her. The women have rights, as well as obligations, equitably. Thus, the man's wishes prevail (in case of pregnancy). GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

Women have the right to live as long as they wish even after divorce. So they have advantage too.

      Peace,

first bro alen i will give you the freeminds translation of the verses mentioned, inshaAllah...

ooow oowthi bilahi min a shaytani al rajeem'
      bismilAllah IrRaham IrRaheem
      2228

And the divorced women shall wait for three menstruation periods; and it is not lawful for them to conceal what God has created in their wombs, if they believe in God and the Last Day. And their husbands would then have just cause to return together, if they both wish to reconcile. And for what obligations the women are owed, so similarily must they fufill their obligations. But the men will have a greater responsibility over them in this. And God is Noble, Wise.

      434

The men are to support the women by what God has gifted them over one another and for what they spend of their money. The upright women who are attentive, and keep private the personal matters for what God keeps watch over. As for those women whom you fear a desertion, then you shall advise them, and abandon them in the bed chamber, and separate from them; if they obey you, then do not seek a way over them; God is High, Great.

inshaAllah this should clarify things for you Brother Alen. May God The Almighty The Merciful Guide and protect you always...

I hope whmever reads this messages recievecs it in the best of health and strongest of faith. God willing.
      Your Sister in Islam,

      Umm Sara

        Salaam Sister Sara,

        Please read my posts carefully.

I had said this in my first post.

There is no doubt that Men and Women are considered equal as per the Quran.

I am not biased. IA you will agree.

        Reg your comment

First of all that guy ahmed i eleive was his name seems to be quotng verses about beating women obviously either hes a hadith follower since he is using hadith influenced quranic translations

I am in the wrong forum. But i dont follow Hadith. The translation is from Rashad Khalifa. I am not interested in arguing which is a better translation.

My only interest is on my topic Punishment for Theft which i started because freeminds website did not reply to my email. IA I will stick to it )

If you would like to debate, please email me at [email protected].

Not equal is the good response and the bad response. You shall resort to the nicest possible response. Thus, the one who used to be your enemy, may become your best friend.

        Peace

            Salam,

I read the link and do not agree and you have no sources of refernce on the actual linguistics of the word "beat" in arabic I have also read the freeminds article which is of greater quality and research. At this point i looked to alot of ways and the freeminds seems the most valid...and your link actaully shows from quran that it logically doesnt make sense that God would command any human being to be beat.......in light of the other verses used

I do not find your article convincing at all come with something better than that inshaAllah

or better yet debunk the freeminds article....if you can....

            and yes its a challenge

            umm sara

              Salaam Sara,

Can you help me understand the difference between items 2 and 3 ?

1.Talk about it. This is obviously the simplest and healthiest method since it opens the communication channel between both parties.

2.Abstain from sharing the same bed. This is the 2nd approach the man is advised to use if they are unable to reconcile their problem as the lack of sexual contact may lead to the wife to cool down as intimate contact may simply inflame the situation if she is unable to stand her husband.

3.Separate from each other. The 3rd and final line of advice is designed as a 'cooling-off' period and is mainly designed to help the wife re-think and examine the situation closely without the physical presence of her husband.

              Salaam

              Ahmed

                peace

                lets say for example

1 is obvious talk about it it doesnt resolve the situaiton

                then

2 remove from bedchamber (this could be no sex or just sleeping on the couch lets say)

3 separate ( lets say for example go staying at your family house for a week)

                while separted

                you then can o what

bring someone form her family and one form your family and if you want to reconcile then God will rconcile it right?

                umm sara

                  Salaam Sara,

                  Just thinking out loud.

Let me give two real examples.

                  1. I am living in US and we have no relatives. Where do you want my wife to go ?
                  2. Lets take that we have relatives. What happens to my sons schooling ? Does it not cause disruption in the family

                  Please let me know.

                  Salaam

                  Ahmed

Based on the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, ? Random House, Inc. 2006.

If your family members are currently not in the USA I do not see it a problem, as there are many advances in technology that would make it readily available to communicate with more than one party at a time, thus giving you the ability to "bring" your family members "together". I do not recall the word refferring to "physically" bringing them, hence in my view I do not see the issue of your family not in USA as barrier to the issue at hand.
