    Salaam dear Weinmar,

I can understand it is very confusing. First of all you need to understand that the Quran explains itself, the idea of Sunna was created through Persian and Jewish influence on the later Islamic scholars. This is confirmed by many Islamic and non-Islamic scholars, sadly the traditional clergy doesn't want to admit this as they will loose their power. There is also no consensus on sunna, and this has only created sects in Islam, which is a form of Shirk.

Thanks but how can I believe you. What is your proof? What if you are wrong? I am not insulting your thoughts i am just trying to understand.

No of course, you must always demand proof. So be very critical of me and any othe rperson, and especially of your background.

I suggest these books for your self-study

      http//www.ourbeacon.com/DUAL.pdf

      http//www.beacon2005.com/Criminals.pdf

      http//www.tolueislam.com/Parwez/mh/mh.htm

      http//www.astudyofquran.org/web/index.php?id=0,6,0,0,1,0

      http//members.tripod.com/lebou/authorityof.htm

Read them one by one, and please take your time, be very patient and self-reliant. Allah demands you research everything you believe as given in 1736, so do not ever be discouraged by the excuse of 'questioning tradition is angrying God'.

Well there is always the possibility that i can be a "disbeliever" according to the Qur'an. I actually don't want to believe anything yet because i lack the mental attributes and capability to logic out what God is all about therefor my judgment isnt culivated well enough. I do believe that there is some sort of Super Power(a.k.a. God - Allah - etc...) and it is the Only thing capable of creating and do whatever it likes to do.

I try to be postive since it is known that after every struggle there must be a reward but I also heared from a friend saying that regardless the good deeds one does in his life and if one is not moslems all the good deeds become nothing. I still debate that idea in my mind because i do not find it logical. What is said in the Qur'an?

P.S thanks for the books. i will - as always- try to read anything to feed my appetite for knowledge

Very good answer, and keep this attitude during your study, always be independent in thinking.

I can also recommend these 2 books on the difference between Deen of the Quran and the normal approach to religion

            Peace weinmar,

I think you're mixing and confusing a lot of issues. It's not a matter of believing what other members here tell you, nor your multitude of "friends" with all sorts of preaching and judgement.

Try and break it down, simplify what the problem is, or is there a problem at all? Do you believe in God? Do you believe quran are words of God? If yes, then continue from there, if no, then go back and work those issues out first before you jump into some hadith or other. I mean, if someone tells you "believe in God alone", your counter should not be "...but my friend told me..." ??? Provide evidence via Quran, if you believe in it.

            peace

Re Islam Vista - Upgrade Yourself !!!

What a great title. Weinmar, don't ever change!! Grow but don't change.

You hit it on the nail! Truth does not upgrade. Truth is and has always been there. Just like a child is born pure into this world but becomes tainted by those who feed her their lost versions of truth. All the while, the child is in reality more closer to the Truth. They confuse the child into a frenzy resulting in a loss of self, and once the child is grown and confused, she goes in search of Truth again. Unfortunatly, this time the search is made on the outside instead of the inside. Reading more books and thoughts of others in hopes to find herself in the words of another. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with learning... but please don't ever loose yourself in it. Grow, but don't change.

                peace be on you.

                  Hello M_Mehdi,

I think that the child could be a representation of me. it's confusing i don't know what to believe. i am just making wishes to God to guide in his best possible way if possible.

I finally came to the conclusion where i should keep my common sense alive and focus on God alone in my faith. Read some Qur'an and take it easy on myself. I don't want to follow any believe but my own logic and Qur'an. If i do wrong then God forgives and i do not have intentions to do wrong.Well most of the time to be honest hehe
