this may sound odd but why would God command those who already believe to believe in Him?

4136 O you who believe; believe in God and His messenger, and the Scripture which was sent down to His messenger, and the Scripture that was sent before. And whoever rejects God, and His angels, and His Scriptures, and His messengers, and the Last Day; then he has strayed a far straying.

      Hello

Because some claim to believe in Allah but the angels for them don't exist, it is nothing but a metaphor for them

also many believe in God and don't believe in the prophets nor the scriptures neither the JD

they still call themselves Muslims though, indeed you will find many on this web site and every where calling themselves Muslims but what they say has nothing to do with Islam, some even reject that Mohammad was real

      Salam

A similar verse telling the Believers what to believe in also in 6110-13 .
Brother Ahmad ... could you please tell me what is the Literal Meaning of "Ya ayyuhal ladziina aamanu " ? as some Ulama told me that it means " O' You Who are Secure in Knowledge of God " .
My sincere Thanks in advance .

        Cheers

          Salam bro

Ya ayyuhal ladziina aamanu only means those who believe or posibly those who want to believe or in the process of solidfying their belief

the words for Those Who are Secure in Knowledge of God are "Al Rasikhoon Fi Al Ilm" the Quran used a couple of times as far as I can remember

          Take care
