new DRC Forum on the scientific and universal understanding of the Qur'an

Peace all,
After a long discussion with several people involved with DRC, we decided to create a seperate forum that is more focussed on a philosophical and scientific understanding of the Qur'an. We will not focus on issues that are mostly discussed here i.e. religious approaches, rituals, the debates between pro-Hadith and Qur'an alone, personal issues etc.
In a sense, the Forum is to pursue the fields of Tafsir (Qur'an exegesis) in al-Ittijah al-Ilmi (the scientific orientation), al-Ittijah al-3aqli (the rational orientation) and al-Ittijah al-Ijtima'i (the sociological orientation) and thus form up-to-date Tafsir b'il-Ra'y (exegesis based on reason) and Tafsir b'il-Ilm (scientific exegesis) in detail.
Everybody is welcome and to join or create discussions. We are still working out the best structure of the subjects, so any suggestions or comments are welcome.

There is no scientific way to understand quran. Science is based on materialistic, for example to measure room temperature it needs thermometer but to measure how much mother loves you.. it can't. So one need GODs help to understand Quran by the way intuition/messengers/angels and not by Institution or etc. Also we learn Quran from those who actually put into practice. I happened to visit this website and hear English Audio by Dr.Fazlur Rahaman ( and resides in INDIA and I love to meet this Gentleman ) at www.foolproofcure.net which is worth hearing Quran also we can post queries regarding Quran.
The Quran is book in this world and other books from human knowledge is filth and Quran registered in the soul as wisdom and it gets opened when we read Quran and our mind and soul put together says YES for each aayath in the Quran. Any human knowledge leads to destructive force unless otherwise GODs wisdom is bestowed upon him. For example electricity is the tiny wisdom from universe bestowed upon Edison.
Read Quran to make our life(mind) most comfortable way where there is no competition and the way is created for you and its only for you. Its the way of Straight Path.

Science is not essentially materialistic, especially the fields of Quantum physics and Field theories are beyond any concept of materialism. Your statement is a classical example of ignorance of modern-day science and the concept of deduction.
If you mean Fazlur Rahman from Pakistan, he died several years ago.
As for your other statements, to me it clearly contradicts the Qur'an

Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the succession of night and day, there are indeed messages for all who are endowed with insight,
who remember God when they stand, and when they sit, and when they lie down to sleep, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth "O our Sustainer! Thou hast not created this without meaning and purpose. Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Keep us safe, then, from suffering through the fire (as we burn away our potential for further development)!
It is He Who has created you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then from a leech-like clot; then does he get you out as a child; then lets you (grow and) reach your age of full strength; then lets you become old,- though of you there are some who die before;- and lets you reach a Term appointed; in order that you may use your reason.
Allah has bestowed His Guidance upon humans not for that they do not use their reason or intellect but on the contrary He has expounded that the very purpose of His Guidance, the Quran, is that people should use their reason.

The importance of using the faculty of reasoning is such that Allah has severely condemned those who do not make use of it. He says in the Quran,
Verily, the vilest of all creatures in the sight of God are those deaf, those dumb ones who do not use their reason.
And most certainly have We destined for hell many of the invisible beings and human being who have hearts with which they fail to grasp the truth, and eyes with which they fail to see, and ears with which they fail to hear. They are like cattle -nay, they are even less conscious of the right way it is they, they who are the heedless!
Allah has urged humans in the Quran to ponder upon whatever there is in the universe and elucidated that in His creations, there are signs (towards the Truth) for those who use their reason.
Verily, in the creation of the heavens and of the earth, and the succession of night and day and in the ships that speed through the sea with what is useful to man and in the waters which God sends down from the sky, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and causing all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon and in the change of the winds, and the clouds that run their appointed courses between sky and earth there are messages/signs indeed for people who use their reason.
And there are on earth tracts of land close by one another ; and vinyards, and fields of grain, and date-palms growing in clusters from one root or standing alone, watered with the same water and yet, some of them have We favoured above others by way of the food . Verily, in all this there are messages/signs indeed for people who use their reason!
And He has marshalled to your service the night and the day, the sun and the moon, and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. They all function according to His laws. In these also there are signs for those who use their reason.
And from the fruit of date-palms and vines from it you derive intoxicants as well as wholesome sustenance -in this, behold, there is a message/sign indeed for people who use their reason.
And among His Signs, He shows you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope, and He sends down rain from the sky and with it gives life to the earth after it is dead verily in that are Signs for those who use their reason.
And in the alternation of the night and the day, and in the means of sustenance which Allah sends down from the Height, reviving the earth which had been lifeless, and in the change of winds and seasons - in all this are Signs for people who use their reason.
Do they not travel through the land, so that their hearts (and minds) may thus use reason and their ears may thus learn to hear? Truly it is not their eyes that are blind, but their hearts which are in their breasts.

Unfortunately, you are influenced by story tellers... How can you utter such an ignorant statement about a book that uses the same word, AYA, both for nature and scripture? How can you reject matter, while the Quran mentions hundreds of material things as blessings, from honey to lentil, from sun to the moon, from rain to the trees, from clothes to homes, from your eyes to your ears? Aren't all of them made of material things?
Unfortunately, the story tellers and fabricators of hadith have turned Muslim masses against science and mathematics. Later the charlatan spiritualists even led them to deny matter, God's creation, turning one of their eyes blind.
As for your mother's love... Science even can measure and quantify that one through brain waves and other innovations that yet to be discovered. Furthermore, through the study of genes and hormones, science is now getting better in providing medicine for many ailments once considered "metaphysical." or "paranormal." For instance, those with bipolar disease were deemed possessed by spirits in the past by people like you... But, now a small pill containing lithium turn those crazy people into normal and functioning people.
Thumping your nose at science and matter is not a sign of an appreciative person dear Jango. I hope you will wake up and smell the flowers, watch the bees, and enjoy their honey. You should know that they are made of matter according to science and all act according to the science, which is God's law in nature.
