...about when he walks past beggars asking for money he is scared to pass them by without giving them anything in case God is testing him?

When I heard him tell the story about one time back in the day he said he walked by once and then stopped and looked up and said "Boy you almost got me!" and returned to the beggar to offer him a meal and his place for the night.

I am not posting it here to ascertain the truthfulness of this account but to highlight the message behind it, as I think it is rather powerful.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        No problem bro.

Anyone heard the story of Muhammad Ali... about when he walks past beggars asking for money he is scared to pass them by without giving them anything in case God is testing him? i.e. testing him to see if he will give to the needy/poor/beggar.

When I heard him tell the story about one time back in the day (i.e. in the past) he said he walked by (a beggar) once and then stopped and looked up (to the sky, symbolically to God) and said "Boy you almost got me!" and returned to the beggar to offer him a meal and his place for the night. (to rest/sleep, as shelter)

My message being to my fellow brothers & sisters, to be on the alert to such tests as they are all around you and to choose wisely, as you never know.

        Better?

          Peace Wakas

I think I heard such a story in a different context, that is, with different people but basically the same message. It's a good one and it counts to those who remember. I mean, how many people remember to help those in need?

            Dear Wakas,

May I ask a general annoying question regading ur post!. We all speak about 'testing' of God. Do God really need a testing brother? We believe God is omniscient and of course He knows the future. When He knows the result for sure , why a 'test'?. Is He putting as in a play(I seek refuge). Brother Wakas I would like to hear some rational and convincing point of view from u regarding my question. Thanks in advance.

            Peace.

              Peace,

cj, if I may, God isn't the one who "needs a test", we do.

Wakas, thanks for that short story, I hadn't heard it before.

If you wish to respond, please do so in the above threads (probably the last one), not here.

                  Peace

Brother Wakas, thank you for the above links. Definitely I will check it out and respond( except if God wills "NOT", because at times it is better not knowing the truth confused, let me give an instance. We read from medical journals that few people live all their life without knowing they are missing a kidney out of a pair. But they lead a very normal and happy life to their last breath. Had they known the fact earlier, chances are there ,they would have a miserable life both mentally and physically).

Sorry for posting my previous question in an inappropriate forum space.

All praises to the Lord of the dawn.
