The Stages of Creation & Evolution in the Quran

so it is possible to infer that Adam lived in some kind of garden, forest area before being ordered/made to leave to a more desertic region.
Evolutionarily speaking, Adam had to leave the trees and strike out on the ground, bipedal and moving across plains and fields and deserts.

well this is one example
20117 Then We said "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.4370 Enter ye the Garden, ye and your wives, in (beauty and) rejoicing
in 20117 the garden mentioned here is the one which adam was in.
in 4370 the garden mentioned here is the one we'll go in after we die20117 Faqulna ya adamu inna hatha AAaduwwun laka walizawjika fala yukhrijannakuma mina aljannati fatashqa
4370 Odkhuloo aljannata antum waazwajukum tuhbaroona
they're both al-janna
unless there's a difference between aljannati and aljannata,
i'm not an arabic language expert -
they're both al-janna
unless there's a difference between aljannati and aljannata,
i'm not an arabic language expertYou are correct and I was wrong. I am writing without looking things up.
The argument is that "the janna" mentioned in Adam context is really an earthly one. It sounds and feels very much like other "janna"/gardens described elsewhere in Quran where the context clearly is about earthly things. It does not sound like "The Janna" of eternal reward.Again I am not looking things up... Let me know if you want me to.

but the words is the same, at least in those two ayahs.
and if it still is like you say, then we would enter earthly garden after we die.
but i don't think earth will exist then anymore.Yes it is the same word but what is referred to is not. sometimes janna is referring to an earthly garden, sometime it refers to the eternal one. and one can tell which is being referred to from the context. For example in chapter 1832 and the next few verses, it is clear that the word janna is not referring to the next world's, eternal garden. Instead it is a talking about a janna, and even two of them.... gardens.
Other verses talk about janna as being the promised garden, and describe life in it as being eternal.
The two concepts have things in common... but they surely are not the same. There is food in both gardens, there is satisfaction to be found in both... etc. But one of them is vastly superior.
Adam's janna is described, it seems, in pretty modest way in 22117,118,119
22117 "You will have in it that you will not go hungry nor need clothes."
22118 "And you will have in it that you will not go thirsty nor suffer from heat."That could well describe some kind of tropical forest, with a lot of shade and with abundant food and fresh water. then Satan will case him to leave this paradisaic life to a more tougher one 20117, the next step in Man's evolution....

Salaam Aleikum,
I must say that you take the term Jannah very literally while the Quran clearly says it is metaphorically
4715 In allegorical terms the Paradise that the righteous are promised is this
Therein are rivers of ever fresh water, and rivers of ever fresh milk, and rivers
of delicious wine, and rivers of clear-run honey. Therein are all kinds of fruit (of
their good deeds), with a life secure from deterioration bestowed upon them
from their Lord. Are they like the ones who abide in the Fire and are given
drinks of burning despair that tears their insides? ('Maghfirah' here denotes
protection from deterioration)I have written a small article on the matter
http//19.org/index.php?id=91,420,0,0,1,0&PHPSESSID=4f1f5c565f3d0328884385983c6fec65
As far as I have understood Jannah stands for a state of Bliss and fulfillment. In this life we create this Bliss by creating the Deen, this is where we make sure there is no hunger anymore as given in the verses you mention, also running water as the rivers underneath mentioned. In the Next Life we inherit it forever and we will then have much more capabilities.

so are you saying that adam and eve were in a garden on earth and in a state of bliss and then they disobayed God and were thrown out of the garden and were not in the state of bliss anymore?
and after we die, the believers who did good work will enter the garden on earth and be in a state of bliss?
-
Salam Brother Yasin,
I am reading your article on 19.org...
11108 The happy ones on that Day will enter the Garden and live there as long as the New Universe endures, that is time beyond count; until your Lord opens for them the way to further evolution, a gift unfailing.
Where did you get "until your Lord opens for them the way to further evolution" from?

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
Hazrat Adam (alaihi salaam) and his wife were living in Paradise, until Satan deceived them, then they were expelled down to the Earth
Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said "get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time." (236)
Also, humans did not evolve from any other species. It clearly says in the Holy Quran The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him "Be". And he was. (359)
Jazak Allah Khair.

Salam nerspi,
Yes. that is very much how I currently understand the Adam story verses, though I tend to see Adam and Eve as representing mankind at a specific stage in human evolution.
In the hereafter, I believe, we shall all be back... in a new Universe, one with laws that allow and account for the new features therein displayed, such as eternity.
1448 The Day the Earth is replaced with another Earth, as are the heavens, and they will appear before God, the One, the Irresistible. The Janna of reward will "take place" in that Universe.

if they weresent to earth, that would imply that he wasn't here before. so where was he?
or canthe translation of those verses be interpreted differently?
or translated differently?and if those verses are indeed mistranslated, who did that? didn't the translator have knowlage of arabic language?

Adam (alaihi salaam) was in the Paradise/Garden We said "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the garden (al-Jannata) (235)
The translation of the verses I have provided are by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, and as far as I know there is no mistranslation.

I suggest to read my article....
In 11106-108 it is clearly mentioned that a new Universe will be created for us in the Next Life. This concides with Quantum Physics who say the same thing.
Also it is not Adam and 'eve', the name 'eve' does not occur in the Quran. The story relates to Adam and his spouse, thus metaphorically referring to Man and Woman in general. They threw themselves out of the State of Bliss and Progress by dividing mankind into factions, which is represented by the tree.

The word Adam in this verse is in the present tense, thus referring to Mankind in general. Also the word 'Kun' refers to an act of certainty, it does not refer to an instant moment or that it happens against the Laws of Nature. Also all humans are created from 'Dust'.

Salaam,
I mostly use QXP, see www.ourbeacon.com, this is a Tasreef Translation. We use other verses to explain each other. The Quran calls it Tasreef-al-Ayat, the repitition of verses. So we explain the Arabic definitions of words used, and also the explanation as given in the other verses.

There is more to it than knowing the language. and there is more to the story of Adam than a verse here and a verse there. One needs to study all of them together, and for certain keywords, study all other verses that use those keywords....
This is the story of the origin of man, part of the story of the origin of the Universe, and I do believe it is possible for us to understand it. The Quran can be used for hints, but the study of the earth itself and the life forms dwelling on it should suffice as well
2920 Say "Roam the Earth and observe how the creation was initiated. Thus God will establish the final creation. God is capable of all things."

They threw themselves out of the State of Bliss and Progress by dividing mankind into factions, which is represented by the tree.
dividing mankind? were there more humans besides adam and his spouse?
also, what is meant by
"29. And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Energy, bow before him in homage;"
30. The angels (malikah) bowed in homage in a body .
31. Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers."i take it bow is not physicaly. in what way were they to bow?
and when God said "when I have fashioned him" how long did that take? because from your first post here, the fashoning took quite a long time. or is it meant when God finnished fashoning him and adam looked like, well, modern human, like we do today?

Please read my article on Jinn that also covers the story of Adam, it answers your above questions

peace Arnold,
I understand. Just one thing...There are a lot more forces in the Universe then just matter, the Quantum Field also decides on this. The internet is a poor resource for science Phoenix.
I didn't use the internet this time! In fact, I've kind of lost my interest in science. I used to know a lot of stuff, but now I'm not too excited about new scientific discoveries and theories and stuff. Most of what I know about science comes from magazines like Discover and Popular Science.
I read about the universe not contracting in TIME. I can't tell you how accurate that is, but I'll try to find you a link to a credible source. -
No, if you read carefully, the word doesn't appear in the Quran. The Quran talks about Adam and his spouse. And thus is a metaphor for Man and Woman in total. Adam were the first Homo Sapiens, Modern man and woman.
The earlier species of man-apes from which modern man originated from do not fall under the term Adam, Intelligent man.
so are you saying that qur'an supports the fact that adam came from a different species? apes or whatever?
and if so, are we humans from today going to develope in different creatures in the next million years?
