God's law

salam,
How true is this statement? Do you think the same way as me about this? why or why not?
I'm doing my final project for media ethics.. it would be very helpful if someone can provide the ayats that supports this statement
"Laws established by God bring goodness if we obey it and if we go against it, there will be negative consequences."thanks.

Peace Katara,
If you don't mind some constructive criticism...
First, "ayat" is plural for "ayah". So, there's no such costruct as "ayats". Or, you could just say "verse" or "verses". Second, the wording of your statement is a bit unorthodox and inconsistent. I'd word it as follows
"Laws established by God bring positive consequences if obeyed, and negative consequences if ignored."
Onward, I agree with this statement. Here are some verses in support
3200 O you who believe, be patient and call for patience, and bond together and revere God that you may succeed.
515-16 O people of the Scripture, Our messenger has come to you to clarify for you much of what you were hiding from the Scripture, and to pardon over much. A light has come to you from God and a clarifying Book. God guides with it whoever follows His acceptance, to the ways of peace; and He brings them out of the darkness and into the light by His leave; and He guides them to a Straight Path.
584 "And why shouldn't we believe in God and what has come to us of the truth? And we yearn that our Lord admits us with the righteous people."
Now, I'm not sure what the nature of your project is or how rigid the requirements are regarding logical consistency or strength of argument - but I would make sure of this before proceeding because using the qur'an to justify your statement does not prove anything except that the proof is consistent within the qur'an.
In other words, if your statement needs to be supported logically, then essentially, using the qur'an is like saying, "because God said so". If this is ok, then that's fine. Otherwise, you may need to quote the verses and then reference "real-world" data that support the verses, and, eventually, your original statement.
For instance, find the verses that speak of giving charity or feeding orphans. Then dig up some research on the positive effects on people who regularly give charity or feed the poor. Conversely, you can find the verses that speak of monogamy and dig up some research on the negative effects of single-parent households or std's, etc.
Best of luck.
Peace,
