The Quran has set us free

I have finally reverted to the natural religion, the heart of faith God Alone, Alhamdulilah.
Seventeen years ago I converted from Christianity to Sunni Islam after reading three pages of the Quran.
I recognized the voice of God as i identified it from the Tawrat which I read as a child. Then my desire to love the prophet led me to Hadith and away from God's religion.
I didn't realise that this was inventions by men and at the very best unreliable reports of the prophet's sayings or doings, man made rules of Haraam and Halal overruled God's laws whilst He is the only one with the authority to decide what is lawful or not and it's all in the Quran, so simple and so beautiful. I have returned home to the word of God.G. Omar

The Qur'an is simply beautiful without the hadiths... I think that the overemphasis on those hadiths have caused the beauty of the Qur'an to fade and subside as time went by. It had caused Islam to be perceived by other Faiths as intolerant, picky and suppressive, when the Qur'an, especially for its time, has brought freedom to those who worship one God.
You will notice many Muslims on this forum seemingly angry and hurt because they have felt suppressed or lied to themselves... but I think we must change our attitude and spread this movement as a movement of renewal and change of society and make it more Qur'anic than before. The Qur'an is light and mercy to those who believe, and Godwilling, it is through Eir Mercy that we will certainly bring monotheism to a hurting world.

I agree, these mostly corrupted hadith have been allowe to overshadow the Quran and bring to the world a message wholly unsanctioned by God. As you say, through them Islam has been perceived as something quite different from the true message, which I guess is why some one said "if it wasn't for the Muslims every one would embrace Islam".
Our mission I believe is to be ambassadors of true Islam. The simple message of the Quran agrees very well with what many people naturally have come to believe,

its not that simple, go to the hadith versus sunnah thread in the hadith discussion section and you will see its not that simple.

The mindset of the Sunni who does not believe blindly is very good, I suggest you all take notes from that.
Not that the hadith are even worth a second glance, but a lot of these people mean really well.
