interesting statement angel, "you cant blame the jews for being racist becuase they only want to continue the survival of their race" , i think that is the exact same argument the Nazis used and that the rest of the world rejected at Nuremburg, i guess its now only ok for the jews to be racist and want the survival of their people, but no other race is allowed to say or think this.

who said they can't/don't think like that?
its against the Jewish religion to marry out of their "race", (their Jewishness is inherited maternally, I remember a rabbi saying that the idea the the Jews are a "race" came from the Nazi's, because Jews come in all colors and have many different countries of origin, but for convenience i refer to them as a "race".)
I'm sure you would find that most parents would be furious with their child for marrying out of their religion, and the girls parents were religious.
I know many Muslim girls who are not allowed to attend college because their parents are frightened about the fact that they might marry a non-Muslim.
If you think that interfaith marriages are not a bad idea then that's up to you, but most parents do have a problems with that, and you can't accuse the parents of being 'racist' for that reason, otherwise the whole bloody world is racist.

I'm always confused when it comes to Judaism. A Jew is actually one who belongs to the Jewish people by race or one who embraces Jewish faith? Usually when I refer to a religious Jew I always say Jewish Jew because it means that he is Jewish by race and Jewish by religion.

Hmm ... that article seems to confirm the notion that Jewry is indeed a race. Therefore, your previous comparison between Muslim parents who do not want their children to marry non-Muslims and Jewish parents who do not want their children to marry non-Jews is definitely inaccurate because Islam is a religion, not a race.

no its not Lobster, its both, its a religion that is used to preserve the hebrew race, known as jews, you cant just convert to Judaism, even if you accept the tenets of judaism as a religion they will not accept you as their race. You can be a jew by race but not believe or practice even one dogma of judaism the religion, but you can never believe in Judaism the religion and thereby become part of their race,, its an exclusive and mostly racist distortion of the true Abrahamic Judaism. They used to serve God now they make God serve them as the "chosen people" Does anyone really believe God is a racist as they believe?

In my opinion it is understandable if Jewish parents do not want their kids to marry people whose religion is not Judaism. But I think it is definitely racist if the reason is because their mothers are not Jewish by race.
Anyway, Im sure if the girl is a non-Jewish white American and the guy is black instead of Italian, this story would probably have appeared all over the media.

Kurt you are mistaken my friend. You can convert to Judaism, its a common misconception that you can't. But according to Orthodox Jews you have to have an orthodox conversion otherwise the conversion is considered invalid by the Orthodox Jewish community. An Orthodox conversion takes between 2-5 years. According to one of the Jewish scriptures (i can't remember which one, they have so many of them) a convert is someone who is born with a "Jewish soul" but was born in a non-jewish family, so once they have completed their conversion process they are part of the Jewish race.
However to be a Jew you don't have to follow Judaism. Jewishness is also inherited maternally. Noam Chomsky is an atheist, but because his mother is a Jew he is classed as a Jew.
Jews are not actually a "race", they come in all colors and are from many different countries of origins, the idea that they are a race came from the Nazis, but because Jewishness can be inherited for convenience they are called a "race".
The idea of them being "the chosen people" does not mean they are superior, but they were chosen to obey 613 laws while non-Jews are expected to obey 7 (Noahide laws).
Most Jews don't believe that they are superior to the goyim, some do, just like some Muslims believe that they are superior to non-Muslims (they are AKA Islamofascists).
Jewish converts are considered equal to Jews who are Jews at birth, but a Jewish convert is not allowed to marry a cohen (a direct male descendant of the Biblical Aaron) but the children of the convert can marry a cohen.
