Try substituting the word life in place of allah/god in the quran or any other religious book.....See what you make of it....
    Serve life,respect life,connect to life....
Life is instantly and universally recognised.....The proofs for lifes' existence are overwhelming and inumerous....
Whether you serve life respectfully or not,you cant deny its existence and power....life has always existed and always will in some form or another, life is eternal, life is the judge.....Can you see what im getting at?
ps; we are all life as well... yay elektro & eat muscle peace sun bravo yay

God is not life, but rather, He is the Creator of life and death He Who created death and life, that He may try which of you is best in deed and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving (672)

To me that is more logical than mere religious 'belief' in an unknowable supernatural entity, which has no real evidence to support its existence...

There is plenty of strong and irrefutable evidence for the existence of God, and not only His existence, but many of His qualities (such as Oneness) as well as the historical fact that He has directly intervened and revealed Himself in mundane human affairs

Christians like to attribute the "causation argument" to people like Thomas Aquinas, and other philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. However, it's interesting that these arguments developed by Christian philosophers many years after the advent of Jesus Christ (alaihi salaam) and their New Testament are nowhere rooted in their own Scriptures. On the contrary, these ideas can be found exclusively in the Holy Quran

Causation argument That to thy Lord is the final goal (5343)

Intelligent design argument "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." (2050)

In light of the excellent arguments given in the Holy Quran which point to the undeniable existence of One All-Powerful God (Allah), there is no use in trying to rationalize that God is life or anything like that. The Holy Quran clearly says about the nature of Allah And there is none like unto Him (1124) He is without question beyond what we can imagine and more awesome and powerful that we can ever conceive of. It is degrading to His majesty to identify Him with such things as life or love, etc.

Yes,you talk to life when you question yourself, talk to others or talk over ideas in your head...life answers you back with ideas and the speech/ideas of others....Remember you and other people are life as well......
Reversing the question, how does god talk to you,and how do you talk to god? I know life/myself/other humans answer me back, how does god do this?

i remember readng in sura 9 i think something about God punnishing people by hands of believers. so He may not talk to me directly but can use other means.
and didn't God talk to moses directly? how would that be if He is life?

what is life to you? when you hear the word life, what do you think of?

                      peace

                      i see what you're saying.
but everything that exists was created, so life was created and God wasn't so i don't think God is life. i read that God gives life so how could He be life?
God also created nature but i don't think you can say He is nature.

because at one point life didn't exist, the universe didn't exist, nothing existed except God. He was the only one and He created everything.

and how can you say that God is life and you also said we are life? we can't be and are not the same thing. God is above all.

I see your points, however i dont see proof that everthing has to be created...If this was the case how was god created? How do we know god is above all and seperate from us? How do we know that at one time only god existed....can you imagine anything beyond time and space, beacuse i cant.....

                          2135

Every Nafs/life/soul/living bieng must taste of death.

In the quran God also has used the word "Nafs" for Himself.

So we really cannot understand the Nafs/self of God, we can only know Him through His attributive names He has given in Quran.

ps; death in my view is a recycling into another energy form, ashes to ashes dust to dust,etc....

                              peace

as a matter a fact i can imagine.
God was not created, we even talked about it in another topic here.
you see if someone created God, wouldn't that someone be better then God and why would we be told to serve God if there would be someone better then Him.
so for me it's not hard to grasp the fact that God was not created. it even says in sura 112 He was not beggoten. what more proof do you need?

well you can't equate God to humans because He created us. we are not the same thing. He can destroy us but we can't come even close to even try to harm God.

and before He created the universe, there was only Him. i don't know what He was doing or if He created anything else before this universe, i'd like to ask Him though.

you're right hamsa, we can't understand. i mean i know God is alive, He is living but He will not taste death.

We cannot apply 2135 to God, that was my point. We cannot/ and are unable to understand the nafs/self of God. All we can know about God is what He Himself has told us in the quran. Thats it!

you listed several meanings of the word, doesn't mean they all go for God.
