Difference between The Message and A Pure and Literal Translation

Forgive me if this if this was already explained on another thread but is there a significant difference between The Message and A Pure and Literal Translation? To me they look the same as I have a book copy of the Pure and Literal and use the Message pdf for computer reading.

It is the same ("The Message" was the title, while "a pure and literal translation" was the subtitle).
