    Greetings,

Well, certainly the "muslims" will be very infuriated because their "Allah"'s house was destroyed and to their astonishment their "Allah" could not do anything to protect it from being destroyed. There will be no house for their "Allah" to live in, at least temporarily. They will soon rebuild it and start worshiping their "Allah" again.

    Anwar Azim

Allah does not live anywhere. But god has referred to ka'bah as 'baytee' (my house) in the Quran. How do you make sense of that Mr. Smart?

      Greetings,

These examples are only for jews and christians. Muslims are only innocents and we only need to tell them the truth.....

Does it say that those examples are "only for jews and christians"?

If you are smart enough to understand that "Allah does not live anywhere", then you should also be able to make sense of "baytee" as well.

          Peace Ayman,

The word "hijri" doesn't appear for over 100 years on Islamic inscriptions and manuscripts. Given that the kingdom of the Arabs was already established by 621CE, the emigration certainly happened earlier.

You agree it happened; when/where according to your timeline ? to Yathrib?

Hmm... no mention of Hijra here. All that Elias said was that it is the first year of the kingdom of the Arabs. This is in line with what Jacob said. Namely, that the kingdom of the Arabs was established on that year and that is when they started raiding Palestine.

Use anyone?s timeline for Jerusalem you like; Jews, Christians?

          http//www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=jerusalem+timeline&btnG=Google+Search

          614 Persian conquest of Jerusalem.
628 Emperor Heraculis recaptures the city.
638 Six years after the Mohammed's death, Caliph Omar captures Jerusalem; Jews readmitted

Whole point was that Islam sprang no where near there else they would have to contend with Persians and Byzantines which was not the case.

Abraha had only one expedition in Arabia which is documented in the inscription...
What are you talking about? Who cares about Abraha's death? Please focus!!

Where is Mecca mentioned in the inscription? Of course it is not!!! Did Abarha know that you and I were going to have this conversation and thus he conspired with me against you and deliberetly didn't write Mecca in his inscription?

They exported ivory, trained baby elephants and like showing off in elephant chariots to visiting emissaries, and their coins with wheat around King's head was their symbol which fits Qur?an?

          http//www.homestead.com/wysinger/coin1.jpg

1051 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the people of the elephant?
1055 Until He turned them like devoured hay.

"All we have regarding thaggar (Islam) are the notices that 'Muhammad (Mhmt) went down for trade to the lands of Palestine, Arabia and Syrian Phoenicia,' that 'the kingdom of the arbaye (Arabians), those whom we call Tayyaye (Arabs), began when Heraclius, king of the Romans, was in his eleventh year and Khusrau, king of the Persians, was in his thirty-first year' (620-21CE), and that 'the Tayyaye began to carry out raids in the land of Palestine.'" (from Hoyland, Seeing Islam as Other Saw it).

I read the above paragraph as separate events?

          1. 'Muhammad (Mhmt) went down for trade to the lands of Palestine, Arabia and Syrian Phoenicia.

          2. that 'the kingdom of the arbaye (Arabians), those whom we call Tayyaye (Arabs), began when Heraclius, king of the Romans, was in his eleventh year and Khusrau, king of the Persians, was in his thirty-first year' (620-21CE),

          3. and that 'the Tayyaye began to carry out raids in the land of Palestine.'"

Else according to your logic, 'Muhammad (Mhmt) went down for trade to the lands of Palestine, Arabia and Syrian Phoenicia while raiding them at the same time?

What would you think if you walk down the street in Albania (I guess this is where you are from) and see a bunch of half naked guys wearing nothing but towels spinning around a stone cube and kissing a bunch of broken stones glued together in one of its corners? You would surely think that they are some crazy pagan cult.

No, I?d think they were Albanian?

Feja e Shqiptarit eshte Shqiptaria ? The Albanian's faith is Albanianism!

Most idolize nationality and believe they originated from pure white Aryan rocks and the Albanian language (Illyrian) is so old that Adam spoke it. LOL

I agree, people should not worship other than God and couldn?t care if it was a pebble that marks the spot ? it is a place of unity, a focal point.

          nothing but arrogance.

          Peace Ayman

              Peace
              A little true example here...
In a "Muslim" Sunni country, the Government decided to erect a big obelisk in memory of the Unknown Dead Soldier. This stone was supposed to commemorate and pay respect to those who died in the wars, particularly the ones whose remains were never recovered... Something that most countries do, pretty standard... Probably because of Islam, the statue was made so that it does not represent a human (or animal for that matter). Also when Heads of States will visit, they will be taking to pay respect.
Now the Mullah, Mashaikhs and extremists wen on the rampage, and made a furious attack on it claiming this is idolatry.
Well nobody spinned around it, or prayed to it...
They wanted to destroy it... suffice it to say, it is still standing, ...
That being said my point is, why would they be so angered by that stone, and feel very content about the stone in Saudi Arabia?
              It baffles me...
Is it because the forefathers of the Arabs used that stone before, so we should follow in their footsteps?
Or that we are scared to challenge what we were taught (for some of us brought up with)?
If Abraham were to follow that logic, he would have never been a Prophet of Allah...
That being said we need to open to guidance... Does anyone ask for Guidance, and promise to follow it however painful and/or challenging.
Or we are happy with the status quo, and our little comfort zones we have carved for ourselves?
Even then it is not that easy, I know people who were very well off, and lost everything because of bad business or war, or turn in fortune... but I tell you sometimes that comfort zone can also be a miserable life, but it is all we know...
There is something I always like to say to the "Jihadist", you like to die for Islam, that is easy, why wouldn't you live for it and produce something useful instead that will benefit your brothers, we don't want or need your death...

                why do muslims lose?

                http//www.free-minds.org/articles/politics/lose.htm

                Also

2530 And the messenger said "My Lord, my people have deserted this Qur'an."

If the 1.5 billion muslims are so innocent why is the prophet complaining (on the day) about his followers?

                      Peace bro Hamsa, all,

Bro Tanveer this is not true, people do not know the truth, neither they know that black cuboid is an idol. I myself didn't know that and thus wanted to go there for hajj but now I would never ever go there. If I have to go I would go with a hammer to smash the Idols http//www.smileyhut.com/angry/crash.gif. Alhamdulillah. But I wouldn't say those people Mushrik because they dont know it.

Brother Dargento already posted the relevant signs

622 And the Day We gather them all, then We say to those who set up partners "Where are your partners whom you used to claim?"

623 Then, their only excuse was to say "By God, our Lord, we did not set up partners!"

624 See how they lied to themselves; and that which they invented deserted them.

most people dont believe they are mushriks

Pagan is as pagan does. People can be idolaters even while believing in The God

12106 And most of them will not believe in God except while setting-up partners.

On the Last Day, ignorance of being an idolater, while committing idolatry will be no excuse. Let me illustrate this with an example.

If someone is driving in USA on a particular road and exceeds the speed limit without knowing what it is, and gets pulled over by a cop, one will definitely get a speeding ticket or end up in court or jail depending on how much over the speed limit. Ignorance of the speed limit will not be a good enough excuse. I can safely bet that instinctively that person had some idea of being reckless and violating the speed limit if he/she was going way above the speeding limit, even without knowing what it was.

"But officer, I honestly did not know the speed limit".

"You seem responsible enough to have an active driver's licence. You should have known the speed limit before you got your car on the road".

The God has sent us the message and given most of us adequate mind, reason, logic, common sense, and reading and comprehension abilities, so ignorance will not be an excuse on the Last Day. One could easily have used those abilities to do the appropriate research and verify anything before following it per 1736. Just because one did not study the publicly available guidance, and did not act upon it appropriately because of ignorance, will not be good enough to save oneself from retribution.

                        Peace all,

According to the following signs, even when one commits sin out of ignorance, one STILL HAS TO REPENT. Just because it was committed out of ignorance does not mean we will not be accountable for it, and will be forgiven without repentance

417 Repentance is only for those who commit sin out of ignorance and then repent soon after; these will be forgiven by God, God is Knowledgeable, Wise.

654 And if those who believe in Our revelations come to you, then say "Peace be upon you, our Lord has decreed mercy upon Himself, that any of you who commits sin out of ignorance and then repents afterwards and amends, then He is Forgiving, Merciful."

16119 Then your Lord to those who do evil out of ignorance, then they repent after that and they make right, your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful.

                          Salaam bro Tanveer

Ah, I always thought only that murderer should be hanged who killed someone intentionally, and a person who unintentionally killed someone shouldn't get the same punishment........but I was wrong...

Also if I want someone to think and be on the right path then I would definitely prefer not to use your method bro, its destructive not constructive at all....

                          Peace

                            Salaam bro Hamsa,

Killing someone unintentionally is not the same as killing someone intentionally but not knowing it is a sin. Committing sin out of ignorance would be the latter, not the former which would be an accident and not a sin.

Just like some people INTENTIONALLY go visit pagan idols and symbols and INTENTIONALLY indulge in pagan rituals and practices, not knowing it is idolatry. That would be committing sin out of ignorance. They better repent soon for it and amend their actions, otherwise once they die, that sin might never be forgiven by The God.

                                  just stumbled on this website
                                  http//us.geocities.com/al_hajj/Kaaba.html

how much of this info is true? how do they know?

The Kaaba It's Size and History!

The small, cubed building known as the Kaaba may not rival skyscrapers in height or mansions in width, but its impact on history and human beings is unmatched.

The Kaaba is the building towards which Muslims face five times a day, everyday, in prayer. This has been the case since the time of Prophet Muhammad over 1400 years ago.

                                  The Size of the Kaaba

The current height of the Kaaba is 39 feet, 6 inches and total size comes to 627 square feet.

The inside room of the Kaaba is 42.64x29.52 feet. The Kaaba's walls are one 3.28 feet wide. The floor inside is 7.22 feet higher than the place where people perform Tawaf.

The ceiling and roof are two levels made out of wood. They were reconstructed with teak which is capped with stainless steel.

The walls are all made of stone. The stones inside are unpolished, while the ones outside are polished.

This small building has been constructed and reconstructed by Prophets Adam, Ibrahim, Ismail and Muhammad (peace be upon them). No other building has had this honor.

Facts about the Kaaba that many are unaware of.

The other names of the Kaaba

Literally, Kaaba in Arabic means a high place with respect and prestige. The word Kaaba may also be derivative of a word meaning a cube.

Some of these other names include

Bait ul Ateeq-which means, according to one meaning, the earliest and ancient. According to the second meaning, it means independent and liberating. Both meanings could be taken

                                  Bayt ul Haram-the honorable house

The Kaaba has been reconstructed up to 12 times

Scholars and historians say that the Kaaba has been reconstructed between five to twelve times.

The very first construction of the Kaaba was done by Prophet Adam. Allah says in the Quran that this was the first house that was built for humanity to worship Allah.

After this, Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail rebuilt the Kaaba. The measurements of the Kaaba's Ibrahimic foundation are as follows

the eastern wall was 48 feet and 6 inches

the Hateem side wall was 33 feet

the side between the black stone and the Yemeni corner was 30 feet

the Western side was 46.5 feet

Following this, there were several constructions before the Prophet Muhammad's time.

                                  Reconstruction of Kaaba by Quraish

Prophet Muhammad participated in one of its reconstructions before he became a Prophet.

After a flash flood, the Kaaba was damaged and its walls cracked. It needed rebuilding.

This responsibility was divided among the Quraish's four tribes. Prophet Muhammad helped with this reconstruction.

Once the walls were erected, it was time to place the Black Stone, (the Hajar ul Aswad) on the eastern wall of the Kaaba.

Arguments erupted about who would have the honor of putting the Black Stone in its place. A fight was about to break out over the issue, when Abu Umayyah, Makkah's oldest man, proposed that the first man to enter the gate of the mosque the following morning would decide the matter. That man was the Prophet. The Makkans were ecstatic. "This is the trustworthy one (Al-Ameen)," they shouted in a chorus. "This is Muhammad".

He came to them and they asked him to decide on the matter. He agreed.

Prophet Muhammad proposed a solution that all agreed to-putting the Black Stone on a cloak, the elders of each of the clans held on to one edge of the cloak and carried the stone to its place. The Prophet then picked up the stone and placed it on the wall of the Kaaba.

Since the tribe of Quraish did not have sufficient funds, this reconstruction did not include the entire foundation of the Kaaba as built by Prophet Ibrahim. This is the first time the Kaaba acquired the cubical shape it has now unlike the rectangle shape which it had earlier. The portion of the Kaaba left out is called Hateem now.

                                  Construction After the Prophet's Time-Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr

The Syrian army destroyed the Kaaba in Muharram 64 (Hijri date) and before the next Hajj Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, reconstructed the Kaaba from the ground up.

Ibn az-Zubayr wanted to make the Kaaba how the Prophet Muhammad wanted it, on the foundation of the Prophet Ibrahim.

Ibn az-Zubayr said, "I heard Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) say, 'The Prophet said "If your people had not quite recently abandoned the Ignorance (Unbelief), and if I had sufficient provisions to rebuild it , I would have added five cubits to it from the Hijr. Also, I would make two doors; one for people to enter therein and the other to exit." (Bukhari). Ibn az-Zubayr said, "Today, I can afford to do it and I do not fear the people.

Ibn az-Zubayr built the Kaaba on Prophet Ibrahim's foundation. He put the roof on three pillars with the wood of Aoud (a perfumed wood with aroma which is traditionally burned to get a good smell out of it in Arabia).

In his construction he put two doors, one facing the east the other facing the west, as the Prophet wanted but did not do in his lifetime.

He rebuilt the Kaaba on the Prophet Ibrahim's foundation, which meant that the Hateem area was included. The Hateem is the area adjacent to the Kaaba enclosed by a low semi-circular wall.

Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr also made the following additions and modifications

put a small window close to the roof of the Kaaba to allow for light.

moved the door of the Kaaba to ground level and added a second door to the Kaaba.

added nine cubits to the height of the Kaaba, making it twenty cubits high.

its walls were two cubits wide.

reduced the pillars inside the House to three instead of six as were earlier built by Quraish.

For reconstruction, ibn az-Zubayr put up four pillars around Kaaba and hung cloth over them until the building was completed. People began to do Tawaf around these pillars at all times, so Tawaf of the Kaaba was never abandoned, even during reconstruction.

During Abdul Malik bin Marwan's time

In 74 Hijri (or 693 according to the Gregorian calendar), Al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Thaqafi, the known tyrant of that time, with the approval of Umayyad Khalifa Abdul Malik bin Marwan, demolished what Ibn az-Zubayr had added to it from the older foundation of Prophet Ibrahim, restore its old structure as the Quraish had it.

Some of the changes he made were the following

he rebuilt it in the smaller shape which is found today

                                  took out the Hateem

walled up the western door (whose signs are still visible today) and left the rest as it was

pulled down the wall in the Hateem area.

removed the wooden ladder Ibn az-Zubayr had put inside the Kaaba.

reduced the door's height by five cubits

When Abdul Malik bin Marwan came for Umra and heard the Hadith that it was wish of Prophet for the Kaaba to be constructed the way Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr had built it, he regretted his actions.

Imam Malik's advice to the Khalifa Harun al Rasheed

Abbasi Khalifa Harun al Rasheed wanted to rebuild the Kaaba the way the Prophet Muhammad wanted and the way Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr built it.

But when he consulted Imam Malik, the Imam asked the Khalifa to change his mind because constant demolition and rebuilding is not respectful and would become a toy in the hands of kings. Each one would want to demolish and rebuild the Kaaba.

Based on this advice, Harun al Rasheed did not reconstruct the Kaaba. The structure remained in the same construction for 966 years, with minor repairs here and there.

Reconstruction during Sultan Murad Khan's time

In the year 1039 Hijri, because of heavy rain, flood and hail, two of the Kaaba's walls fell down.

The flood during which this occurred took place on the 19th of Shabaan 1039 Hijri which continued constantly, so the water in the Kaaba became almost close to half of its walls, about 10 feet from the ground level.

On Thursday the 20th of Shabaan 1039 Hijri, the eastern and western walls fell down.

When flood receded on Friday the 21st of Shabaan, the cleanup started.

Again, a curtain, the way Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr established on 4 pillars, was put up, and the reconstruction started on the 26th of Ramadan. The rest of the walls except for the one near the Black Stone, were demolished.

By the 2nd of Dhul Hijjah 1040 the construction was taking place under the guidance of Sultan Murad Khan, the Ottoman Khalifa. From the point of the Black stone and below, the current construction is the same as that done by Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr.

The construction which was done under the auspices of Murad Khan was exactly the one done at the time of Abdul Malik ibn Marwan which is the way the Quraysh had built it before Prophethood.

On Rajab 28 1377, One historian counted the total stones of the Kaaba and they were 1,614. These stones are of different shapes. But the stones which are inside the outer wall which is visible are not counted in there.

Reconstruction of the Kaaba In 1996

A major reconstruction of the Kaaba took place between May 1996 and October 1996.

This was after a period of about 400 years (since Sultan Murad Khan's time).

During this reconstruction the only original thing left from the Kaaba are the stones. All other material has been replaced including the ceiling and the roof and its wood.

                                  What is inside the Kaaba?

The president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) had the opportunity to go inside the Kaaba in 1998. He describes the following features

there are two pillars inside (others report 3 pillars)

there is a table on the side to put items like perfume

there are two lantern-type lamps hanging from the ceiling

the space can accommodate about 50 people

there are no electric lights inside

the walls and floors are of marble

                                  there are no windows inside

                                  there is only one door

the upper inside walls of the Kaaba were covered with some kind of curtain with the Kalima written on it

Based on information from ICNA's Web site.

                                    1. Why are there other cubes that look like Kaaba?,
                                    2. Were they also dedicated to The God, then got corrupted by idol pagan worship?,
                                    3. Who built them and when? after or before Abraham time?
                                    4. Who carved the footprints of Abraham near KSA Kaaba (don't insult my intelligence by saying it is his real footprints)
                                    5. The black stones, who brought them? are black stones in other cubes same as the KSA Kaaba?
                                    6. In the West we have witch worships, where evil worshipers will process fully naked around a tree, or a stone, invoking witches to help them with problems, this is also done as a ritual of rebirth at the end of December, I read a Hadith where it said the Arabs used to circumbulate around the Kaaba naked, the Mohammed asked them to put a white cloth instead... How about the other cubic structures, why were they not destroyed... Is it OK to worship the Sun, and Allat and Mannat and Al-Uzzah?, since they were left standing? or did some of the Arabs still felt keen of their Idols and scared to destroy them despite The Quranic revelations?
                                    7. In this age of Science, why KSA Government will not allow archaeological and forensic studies to confirm what is written in hadiths?

I think #7 is the one I am really after as it will help get a much better picture of the activities of the Arabs in that area, and therefore the validity or lack therefore of the current interpretations of the Quranic (and Biblical) verses...

                                        Peace Nun,

You agree it happened; when/where according to your timeline ? to Yathrib?

They emigrated but certainly not from what was at the time non-existent Mecca. The people from Yathrib were at a certain battle as per 3313. This doesn't mean that the prophet emigrated there.

Use anyone?s timeline for Jerusalem you like; Jews, Christians?

Whole point was that Islam sprang no where near there else they would have to contend with Persians and Byzantines which was not the case.

I don't know why you are obsessed with Jerusalem. Jerusalem wasn't the town that the prophet emigrated from.

They exported ivory, trained baby elephants and like showing off in elephant chariots to visiting emissaries, and their coins with wheat around King's head was their symbol which fits Qur?an?

What are you talking about? None of that nonsense about elephants is in the inscriptions or the coin. Are these your own fairy tales?

read the above paragraph as separate events?

You can ignore the most important turning event in the text and read it as you like. The fact is that no matter how you read it, the year 620-621CE is when the kingdom of the Arab began. At that time according to traditions they were refugees escaping persecution. Saying that they were a kingdom at the time is like saying that the Palestinians were a kingdom in 1948 when they emigrated from Palestine to escape persecution.

LOL

That's the same nonsense that people who take Mecca as their focal point believe. They also believe that their sins will be wiped out by kissing a white rock from heaven that turned black from absorbing sins. They also believe that Arabic is eternal and that Adam and all the prophets spoke Arabic. They even have Jahiliya poetry attributed to Adam in the eulogy of his murdered son!!!!

I agree, people should not worship other than God and couldn?t care if it was a pebble that marks the spot ? it is a place of unity, a focal point.

What good does it do to be united superficially with people who are only united on nonsense and on serving and adoring stones? It is just a show off with no real substance.

Inscriptions were about victory; why would Abraha mention or commemorate a pelting defeat?

It is the Sassanids and not the Arabs that defeated the Abassynians.

                                        Sure here is the inscription?

What do earlier battles with different tribes have to do with Quraish?

Abraha had only ONE expedition into Arabia, even traditionalists agree on this. They claim that his whole objective of invading Arabia was to destroy the so-called Kaaba in so-called Mecca. This one expedition into Arabia is well documented in the inscription. The route that Abraha takes according to the inscription goes to the northeast of the present location of Mecca and completely ignores it as if it wasn't there. The inscription even mentions towns such as Halban that when compared to supposedly all-important Mecca would have been insignificant. The inscription says that Abraha returned victorious. You again come here over a millenium later and from the comfort of your armchair you casually make such absurd claims as "earlier battles" without bringing a shred of evidence, not even useless hearsay from tradition!!!

NO BATTLE was fought with Quraish; according to Qur?an their plan was foiled (pelted, disease, whatever) and they retreated in defeat?

Perhaps some of you don?t believe there was such a tribe or dialect. LOL

Yes, there was no tribe named Quraish. There is as much evidence of the existence of such tribe as there is of little green men from Mars, a big ZERO. There are many inscriptions in Arabia that mention family lineage and tribes and NONE mention this supposedly most famous Quraish. It is not the name of a tribe. It actually has a meaning that fits in the context of the passage. Please see the meaning of the word "quraish" in Classical Arabic dictionaries. While you are at it, check the meaning of "fil" in Chapter 105 (which also fits in the context and it is not elephant).

Also, this whole idea of a Quraish dialect is hilarious. A non-existent dialect of a non-existent tribe. It is like saying "Perhaps some of you don?t believe there was Martians or a Martian dialect. LOL". It is not surprising that the epigraphic record shows two main dialects in Arabia. In Northern Arabia, they show a Nabataean influenced dialect. In Central and Southern Arabia, they show a Sabaic influenced dialect. The great reading's "dialect" is of the Northern type.

                                        Peace,

                                        Ayman
