I don't know how many times, but I know it occurs more than once, a reference to the sun and moon being in a fixed orbit. Such as 3640 "The Sun cannot overtake the Moon, nor can the night outrun the day each floats in it's own orbit." Is this implying the Sun and Moon orbit the earth which we know today is not the case?

That is true, but the sun does have a fixed orbit around the Galaxy.
