    salam,

what exactly are the Shahr Al Haram? I know that the traditional idea is the 4 months of the pre-islamic calender that arabs wouldnt fight in.

The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred that is the straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

I have never understood this verse, could some explain this verse in general also, it seems these shahr/months have been around before people were around, so I didnt see how that these months were about war with people, because of the surah that mentioned it in relation to war like 95

I have thought these months were maybe about animal mating, because hunting is not allowed but some animals mate different times, so I still dont know

Also this verse I dont understand
597 Allah made the Ka'ba, the Sacred House, an asylum of security for men, as also the Sacred Months, the animals for offerings, and the garlands that mark them That ye may know that Allah hath knowledge of what is in the heavens and on earth and that Allah is well acquainted with all things.
I read this post any found it helpful in relation to masjid alharam and beit alharam
