A simple 'yes' or 'no' will do.

    Thanks

My definition of a prophet and a messenger are diffirent, a prophet can communicate with god and a messenger spreads the word of god. Prophets, maybe. Messengers, yes.

Until I see concrete Quranic evidence that Muhammad is the LAST messenger, then I haven't the faintest.

Still, it's not like we've had anyone vaguely good enough to qualify for the last 1400 years...

Until I see concrete Quranic evidence that Muhammad is the LAST messenger, then I haven't the faintest.

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets and Allah has full knowledge of all things. (Al-Ahzab 3340)

                Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is the Seal of the Prophets (Khatam-un-Nabiyeen). Khatam means seal, as in a seal which is used to close an envelope. Elsewhere in the Holy Quran, Allah Taala uses the word Seal (Khatam) to mean He has closed off guidance into the hearts of disbelievers;

Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing (Al-Baqarah 27)

The term Khatam-i-Qur'an is used in the similar sense and the closing verses of Qur'anic Surahs are referred to as Khawatim. Khatim-ul-Qaum Akhirhuum means "The last man in the tribe." (Refer to Lisan-ul-'Arab; Qamus and Aqrab-ul- Muwarid). (Finality of Prophethood by Maulana Abul Ala Maudoodi)

God has preserved the quran/message for us so now it is up to each individual to use his reason and find the truth - no more prophets (nabi's) - i believe mohammad was the last.
Messengers are different like lp said - their role is to spread the truth of God - i see no reason why no more rasool's will have been sent to spread the message....

                            Salaams ,

What are the credentials of a Nabi ?

                            Stamp of approval/ disapproval.

Does it comply with quality freshness.

                            musk
a substance with a strong sweet smell, used in making perfumes

8326 PICKTHAL Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss.

What do you guys do to see wether something is okay and hasn't gone bad ? may be smell the thing , thus approving its okay to eat or not.

Similarly Musk approves the quality of the thing- its freshness or how delicious an object is.

KHITAM = MUSK ? That which approves the thing, and not suggesting it's the last or the end or that its closed from anything.

Have you seen wine tasters ? who always first smell the wine to see whether they approve it.

                            Similarly

Mu-Hammad ?????.Khatama Alnabiyeenna . = He who does Hammad is what makes him a Nabi.

4034 (YA) "And to you there came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come At length, when he died, ye said 'No apostle will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,-

                            007.035
YUSUFALI O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you messengers from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

                            God Bless.

                              In my opinion, No.

I can't find anything in the Quran that supports it.

Is it sayin Mohammad is the last messenger until I send another one? Is there an end to your twisting Quran?

Keep in mind that the Quran claims to have everything of Islam within. Why is it not explicitly stated? Or is it? Aside from what Yusha put forward?

A seal that god puts cannot be broken.

Can you cite a verse on this?

I can cite to the contrary

                                  006.046
YUSUFALI Say "Think ye, if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who - a god other than Allah - could restore them to you?" See how We explain the signs by various (symbols); yet they turn aside.
PICKTHAL Say Have ye imagined, if Allah should take away your hearing and your sight and seal your hearts, Who is the Allah Who could restore it to you save Allah? See how We display the revelations unto them! Yet still they turn away.
SHAKIR Say Have you considered that if Allah takes away your hearing and your sight and sets a seal on your hearts, who is the god besides Allah that can bring it to you? See how We repeat the communications, yet they turn away.

Here's one for analogy (edit mz quoted this before, didn't see)

                                  083.025
YUSUFALI Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed
PICKTHAL They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed,
SHAKIR They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others).

                                  083.026
YUSUFALI The seal thereof will be Musk And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations
PICKTHAL Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss -
SHAKIR The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire.

Oh, and here's an interesting verse, though off-topic - keyword - "authority"

                                  040.035
YUSUFALI "(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors."

Here is what i think again,

The jews said their hearts where sealed to preserve their identity ? and God said for saying such a thing they are cursed.
                                      002.088
SHAKIR And they say Our hearts are covered. Nay, Allah has cursed them on account of their unbelief; so little it is that they believe.
                                      004.155
SHAKIR Therefore, for their breaking their covenant and their disbelief in the communications of Allah and their killing the prophets wrongfully and their saying Our hearts are covered; nay! Allah set a seal upon them owing to their unbelief, so they shall not believe except a few.

God tries to make us humble but we do harden our hearts and don?t learn humility

Walaqad arsalna ila omamin minqablika faakhathnahum bialba/sa-i waalddarra-ilaAAallahum yatadarraAAoona

Before thee We sent (messengers) to many nations, and We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity, that they might learn humility.
                                      43.
Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloona

When the suffering reached them from us, why then did they not learn humility? On the contrary their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them.

Allah however does stamp (as rubbish)/ disapprove what we have in the heart ? if its not good.

                                        Peace

A seal that god puts cannot be broken.

I disagree. I have seen examples of disbelievers going 180 degrees and turning to God after being hard-hearted .

If god says that Mohammad SAW is the seal of prophets and you are saying that the seal can be broken, then what was the purpose of that verse?

I do not necessarily see it saying "seal" in my personal opinion, but if you're going to say it is "seal" then I note a seal is capable of being popped .

In other words, what that verse is trying to say. Is it sayin Mohammad is the last messenger until I send another one? Is there an end to your twisting Quran?

I guess not if we continue to disagree, which may perhaps incite you to continue to calling my different opinions "twisting". In the meantime I'd ask that you check your tongue lest it continue to slip.

                                        Joe

The answer is A BIG YES

God does sent (many) messengers, at least to me... and I'm sure to many other people also, including YOU.

                                          As an example
During my "lowest period" (broke, no money, no job etc..)
I "post" a question in my heart on how/what is the nature of God's help. How does He answers my/our call for help.
Around a month later, while I was in the airport, I overhear some of the luggage porter saying this words to his friends.
(he is not in any conversation with me)

"God help came in the time of dire need, you cannot expect or forecast it beforehand,
yet it will surely came in the time of dire need, in many forms or ways".

To me, this anonymous porter guy is God's messenger.. delivering answer to my question...

And it seems this porter guy never asked me (or anyone else) to "bear witness that he is God's messenger".. ;D

                                          Salam
