"When you read the Quran, we place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier. We place shields around their minds, to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears. And when you preach your Lord, using the Quran alone, they run away in aversion." (1745-46)

YUSUFALI Such are the Signs of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition (hadith) will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs?

And the other verse in Quran that tells us that God could have made 100 Qurans if he wanted, but one is sufficient?

i don't believe this is in the quran, could be mistaken though

i'll post many verses perhaps unrelated just so you have more to choose from with the emphasis of 'God alone' or 'Quran alone'

18109 Say "If the sea were an inkwell for the words of my Lord, then the sea would run out before the words of my Lord run out;" even if We were to bring another like it for its aid.

3127 And if all the trees on Earth were made into pens, and the ocean were supplied by seven more oceans, the words of God would not run out. God is Noble, Wise.

6114 "Shall I seek other than God as a judge when He has sent down to you this Scripture fully detailed?" Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it is sent down from your Lord with truth; so do not be of those who have doubt.

6115 And the word of your Lord has been completed with truth and justice; there is no changing His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

3944 Say "To God belongs all intercession." To Him belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the Earth, then to Him you will be returned.

3945 And when God Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are filled with aversion; and when others are mentioned beside Him, they rejoice!

3911 Say "I have been commanded to serve God, devoting the system to Him."

3914 Say "God is the One I serve, devoting my system to Him."
3915 "Therefore, serve whatever you wish besides Him." Say "The losers are those who lose their souls, and their families, on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, such is the real loss."

3927 And We have put forth for the people in this Qur'an from every example, that they may take heed.

1854 And We have clarified in this Qur'an for the people from every example; but mankind was always most argumentative.

1015 And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not wish to meet Us said "Bring a Qur'an other than this, or change it!" Say "It is not for me to change it of my own accord, I merely follow what is inspired to me. I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the retribution of a great day!"
1016 Say "Had God wished, I would not have recited it to you, nor would you have known about it. I have been residing amongst you for nearly a lifetime before this; do you not understand?"

1745 And when you read the Qur'an, We place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier.
1746 And we place shields over their hearts, that they should not understand it, and a deafness in their ears. And if you mention your Lord in the Qur'an alone, they run away turning their backs in aversion.

4141 Surely, those who have rejected the Reminder when it came to them; and it is an Honorable Scripture.
4142 No falsehood could enter it, presently or afterwards; a revelation from a Most Wise, Praiseworthy.

4012 This is because when God Alone was mentioned, you rejected, but when partners were associated with Him, you believed. Therefore, the judgment is for God, the Most High, the Great.

3929 God puts forth the example of a man who has partners that dispute with each other, and a man who has given to dealing with only one man. Are they the same? Praise be to God; most of them do not know.

if you also want verses that show muhammad is very human and not 'infallible' i can post those too, let me know good luck and God bless

      peace

oh please post the "infallible" verses! i was debating this with someone quite recently and only 1 verse came to mind which was so frustrating when i was trying to explain my point!

i need to organize myself and have a good referencing system in my quran! its all getting very haphazard with me!

hehe ok fine i was afraid of going too off-topic

okay these verses deal with completeness of the quran, who's teacher of the quran, the 'infallible' messenger, and/ or what is the role of the messenger, intercession etc as well as verses traditional muslims contradict...

4248 But if they turn away, then We did not send you as their guardian. You are only required to deliver.

1340 And if We show you some of what We promise them, or We terminate your life, then you are only to deliver while for Us is the reckoning.

599 The messenger is only to deliver. And God knows what you reveal and what you conceal.

              551 The Almighty.
552 He has taught the Qur'an. (Not muhammad! )

7516 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste.
7517 It is for Us to gather it into a compilation.
7518 So when We compile it, you shall follow its compilation.
7519 Then it is for Us to explain it.

416 Say "I am no more than a human being like you. It is inspired to me that your god is One god, therefore you shall be upright towards Him and seek His forgiveness. And woe to those who set up partners."

"You (Muhammad) cannot guide even the ones you love. God is the one who guides whomever He wills, for He knows best those who deserve the guidance." (2856)

6940 This is the utterance of an honorable messenger.
6941 It is not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you believe.
6942 Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed.
6943 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
6944 And had he attributed anything falsely to Us.
6945 We would have seized him by the right.
6946 Then, We would have severed his life-line.
6947 None of you would be able to prevent it.

2530 And the messenger said "My Lord, my people have deserted this Qur'an." (why would he say this!)
2531 And it is so that We make for every prophet enemies from among the criminals. And your Lord suffices as a Guide and a Victor.

469 Say "I am no different from the other messengers, nor do I know what will happen to me or to you. I only follow what is inspired to me. I am no more than a clear warner"

7188 Say "I do not possess for myself any benefit or harm, except what God wills. And if I could know the future, then I would have increased my good fortune, and no harm would have come to me. I am but a warner and a bearer of good news to a people who believe."

3930 "You (Muhammad) will surely die, just like they will die. " (3930)

2254 O you who believe, spend from what We have provided for you before a Day comes when there is no trade, nor friendship, nor intercession; and the disbelievers are the wicked.

7218 And the temples are for God, so do not call on anyone alongside God.

3058 And We have put forth for the people in this Qur'an of every example. And if you come to them with a sign, those who rejected will say "You are bringing falsehood!"

1037 This Qur'an could not have been produced without God, but it is to authenticate what is already present, and to give detail to the Scripture in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

1620 As for those they call on besides God, they do not create anything, but are themselves created!
1621 They are dead, not alive (the messengers), and they will not know when they are resurrected.

there are a few times God calls out muhammad for making a mistake off the top of my head i can only remember these 2 sets of verses. (And if you look closely thats true for just about every messenger in the Quran)

801 He frowned and turned away.
802 When the blind one came to him.
803 And what makes you know, perhaps he is seeking to purify?
804 Or to remember, so the remembrance will benefit him?
805 As for the one who was rich.
806 You were addressing yourself to him.
807 And why does it concern you that he does not want to purify?
808 And as for the one who came to you seeking.
              809 While he was fearful.
8010 You were too pre-occupied for him.

661 O you prophet, why do you prohibit what God has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? God is Forgiver, Merciful.

                  Salam my brothers and sister.
I'm debating with a Sunni muslim right now. I got 2 questions about Quran, that i hope you got the answears for.
Do you know which verse in the quran that tell us that God never goes out of words?
And the other verse in Quran that tells us that God could have made 100 Qurans if he wanted, but one is sufficient?
                  Peace David

                  Salam.

I can't remember the verses but there are at least a couple i recall.

If the sea was an ink, sea would be gone but not the words of The God.

If you filled the sea with 7 more, God still wouldn't run out of words.

                  God knows best.

If i am wrong, i seek forgivness from The Exalted God and correct me if i'm wrong and whoever remembers the verses, find them and post them, if you can find them faster then me.
                  AlhamdilAllah.

                  Peace.

                      peace ay and all

i just remembered these 2 verses as well that may be beneficial

456 These are God's revelations that We recite to you with truth. So, in which narration(the arabic word hadith is used) after God and His revelations do they believe?

7185 Did they not look at the dominion of heavens and Earth, and all that God has created? Perhaps their time is drawing near; so in which narrations(again the arabic word hadith is used) after this one will they believe?
