Can Someone Be Both Muslim & Christian???

If "muslim" means "peaceful" then yes, a muslim can be a christian. A mumin (believer) can't be.
Im not sure I understand, I feel I can be a Mumin and a christian. What prevents a christian from believing in Islam and Christianity?

Islam is "Christianity", or I think it was called, "Wayism" and now "Unitary Christianity". If there is no setting up partners with God (i.e. trinity), there is nothing wrong.

You can be a believer and a christian as long as what you believe is true. Mumin are the believers in truth. So call yourself whatever you want, as long as you are following the truth, you'll be fine.and setting up partners with god starts a lot smaller than trinity. It's when people ignore the truth, or the right thing, and follow their own desires, like Adam did. That's what leads to worshipping of stone idols and killing people etc.
And the story of Adam shows us that the states of muslim, mumin, kafir, etc are not concrete but most people are shifting constantly between one state of mind and another. Our goal is to stay in islam ALL the time. That's why the quran says "don't die except as muslim." -
Interesting story indeed. It reminds me of a Mongol king who went to a mosque and pray with Muslims on Fridays, and went to a synagogue to pray with Jews on Saturdays, and went to a church and pray with Christians on Sundays. The reason he was doing this was because he was not sure which religion was the truth so he just wanna be on the safe side. ;D
Nowadays, with the rise of sectarianism, the case for this Mongol King could be much more difficult. He have to prays with Sunni on one Friday and Shiah on the other, go to Catholic Church on one Sunday, JW Church on other, Protestant Church on other and so on.... D

You can't be a Muslim and a Christian at the same time, you're either one or the other, those are the rules we took, you either follow them or you don't.
Muslims know the Truth about Jesus and The Exalted God while Christians don't and that is the main reason why one cannot be both at the same time.Peace.

we are not talking about traditional muslims and traditional christians
there are obscure sects in christianity that can be muslim
for example the unitarian sect, i've met a few (emphasis on few ;D) christians who reject the trinity, and believe jesus just to be a man/prophet thats very 'muslim' if you ask me. Muslim is a description not a name anyone can call themselves and they magically become a 'muslim'.

And there is only one God so if you believe in Him then you are on the safe side. But for me the rituals in the different so called religions are the reasons to splitting between those. To believe in God you don't have to go and pray in a special place and if you bow your mind to the almighty then you don't need some special ritual for prayers.
To adhere to God and his scriptures is for your mental state but people have misunderstand it and overdoing it to be mere a physical act.Maria

If you read closely you can see some error in her beleifs, but she is defintely, hopefully on the right path to at least open the discussion among her people. She may in fact be the bridge that could gap some divides amongst people of faith. If you read closely she says Children of God..obviously some flaws in the beleif. My opinion is that she is seeking the truth, but has not come full circle on the beleif. I am sure there are alot of "muslims" who have this same issue, so who are we to judge! Gotta give her credit for speaking her mind and not fearing men..becasue there are alot of people who come to FM and add articles and use fake name out of fear of being exposed! You gotta give it up for this lady she actually had the guts to come out into the open! NOt hide in the darkness but bring forth her "perception" of truth~however skewed it may be~ she still brought it forward!
There is a lesson inthis story I beelive !
Say your truth speak your min and don't fear men only fear God!

But still it depends on what is her understanding of 'Children of God'. When Jesus said he was the 'Son of God', any Jews even today understand that he meant that he was 'a person devoted to God and loved by God'. I hope this is also her understanding of the term.
