      Peace Ade,

      Welcome out of the darkness...

It is amazing to read how different people are guided to the path of God.

May we live and die as submitters to Him alone.

When I was a Sunnist I believed that stoning to death was part of Islam. Now somehow I feel like crying when I remember that. It pains me thinking that I used to believe God would give such a barbaric command.

Why is it barbaric? Some people may consider cutting hands as barbaric. Anyways its for a community 1,400 years ago. What is it about history and Muslims that just do not seem to get along?

Anyways stoning to death is nothing compared to hell fire.

            Peace OPF,

            Peace,

Your story is eerily like mine. I went from Sunni-ism to being practically agnostic, but then I picked up a book on Shia thought, and looked further as you did (faced with exactly the same contradiction that you found!), then looked on, and just like you, the stoning hadith sealed it for me )

            Eerie similarity.

Nice to hear that somebody has similar experiences )

Thanks for the warm welcome ...Actually I could have written longer, but I guess short version of my story is more readable

                    Salam all

Same for me. But it was short. Infact from the very start i had that website in the favourites but only 6 or 7 month after my first steps into islam did i started to read this website. The fact that i'm lazy made me stop from reading the big hadith book and instead it made me concentre on Quran. Because there is a friend at school, he says "you gotta know all the hadith books well".

It left me with a blank state in the mind.

And i was lazy studying islam.

But then i came to this site. And i found sereval other sites.

Now i read atleast one hour a day about islam. Because it's really interressting.

                      Salam ade_cool,

My story is similar to yours, although I study Christianity and Judaism. And try to debate some of them (read try to convert them to Suniism). I applied the "same standard" to my Sunni beliefs...(especially the illogical shahadah) and BOOM, I'm a God Aloner...
