How could it be done? Today it's full of perverted, corrupted, selfish, materialist, idol worshipers (the "stars", people.
The sex is everywhere, in the streets i see some advertisement showing naked women, with just the string. On TV advertisement, there atleast and always one ad which contains a naked woman. On Music clips, its full of women half dressed. Prostitution seems normal to some, the porn industry is very powerful.
How do i fix it, free-minds?
I want to change it, and InshAllah, it will change. Do you want to change it all too, free-minds?
Have i talked of the easiness of acceding porn website on the web? Just put a single word in google, then you have porn site at full force.
And how to fight the mafia?

I'm glad you started this thread and asked this very important question. I do have an answer that I'd like to share with you all. In fact, it was my original intention to start a new thread to share my thoughts (which is a possible solution to the question you raised), but I believe that this thread will do just fine.
Okay, as far as the question How to put the Deen into the Ruling?
I was pondering this issue last night and then I remembered Surah 22, Ayat 41
Those who would be firm in devotion, give zakat, and enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong, if We gave them authority in the land. But the resultance of things rests with God.
The Arabic term for (if) We gave them authority is MmaKkaNnahum from the root word MaKuNa. The many definitions of this root word have to do with Rank, Dignity, Influence, Authority, Power, High Position or Status. GOD tells us in 2241 that IF He chooses to, He can very well give any of us Makaanun or Makaanatun (Power, Dignity, Influence, High Position, Rank among people, etc.)
The two things that immediately come to my mind are Political Authority and Economic/Business Influence/Status.
For now, I don't believe Political Authority should be our goal because the majority of the people are not Believers yet, and according to 2256 as well as scores of other verses we cannot impose this Deen on others and force them to adhere to it. What good would it be for me to be president of the U.S. and trying to force Quranic Law on a majority Judeo-Christian society?
Our first step before getting involved politically is to become a solid, economic force. Our first order of business is entrepreneurship and different Business endeveours. We will need to be economically strong so that we will be granted the Makanaatun that GOD speaks of. With this economic strength, we can then assert our new found Makaanatun. We will then be in a position to where we can establish social service programs and fund many projects geared towards promoting the quran's message.
Now here's the key to making the Deen more popular and acceptable...The More Social, Economical, and Cultural Influence we have over the society, the MORE ACCEPTABLE and even PREFERABLE our way of life will become. Everyday conversations about the quran can become just as popular and normal as everyday conversations about the bible.
Once the Deen is more popular and acceptable, it is then that we will wish to assert some sort of Political influence in the land.
If none of this seems to make any sense to you, then I ask you HOW and WHY do you think the jews enjoy their political, economical and cultural influence in America? How do you think they were able to convince the World's Leaders to help them establish a country of their own?

I am not sure how pornography can be controlled though, as people can put up whatever they want on the internet and people can view anonymously anything they want on the internet. I agree with you Yosemite, indecent exposure of females is all over the media and is perverting everyone. God willing something can be done. Damon your idea seems to be an approach. Another approach that we can also take at the same time, maybe is to work with the people around us. ie family and friends etc and tell them to enjoin good and forbid wrong and worship one God.

Pornography can be controlled at the roots - the USA has a multi-billion dollar porn industry, I think. The viewers, that's a whole other matter.

Damon, you make sense. A lot of it. With the money we can put the necessary stuff to educate the population about Islam, the real thing. And maybe if people are open to enjoin the deen of Allah, then naturally all the bad stuff might start to stop.
But then some people might think "what about the traditions of my ancestors" (the traditions that have nothing to do with religion or the Deen)
Or those people who love money more than their parents. Or those mafiosos who hold the market of prostitution. Those who are able to kill without thinking whoever steps on their market.
Those who have armies also. And those who hold the market of drugs.
And those who have nukes.

You need a few centuries to accumulate money (provided that the world stops on hold untill you become such a wealthy influential body) AND find people ready to spend this/their moneys for the cause of God. The example of Jews is not a good one they were not simply Jews but zionists, people from other religions or mere atheists who were seeking worldly gain. Even so, the Jews had to work for 3000 years (and for a few centuries in our modern time) to get their state !!
I think it is more feasible to dream about having political authority. Look at many presidents who were not known before, and suddenly (or it seems) were campaigning and winning. One does not even need to be president, but one of the president's men. In the next generation of God-aloners (if not in our life time) "we" can have a God-alone head of state. What we should do is to continue without fatigue to spread this deen and educate people.
I personally find it more probable that I campaign against the president of Sudan AND win than become a millionnaire hail muscle

I would like to post a passage from a book written by Sayyid Qutb called "Milestones"
Islam CANNOT fulfill its role EXCEPT by taking CONCRETE FORM IN A SOCIETY, RATHER, IN A NATION; for man does not listen, especially in this age, to an abstract theory which is not seen MATERIALISED in a living society. From this point of view, we can say that the "Muslim community" has been extinct for a few centuries, for this Muslim community does not denote the name of a land in which Islam resides, nor is it a people whose forefathers lived under the Islamic system at some earlier time. It is the name of a group of people whose manners, ideas and concepts, rules and regulations, values and criteria, are all derived from the Islamic source. The Muslim community with these characteristics vanished on earth.
After reading this passage, one should ponder on 2143 and 3110 to truly realize the intent of the passage.

Do you really think that pornography is the worst thing which needs to be tackled. I think the greatest problem which needs to be tackled is that of IRRATIONAILITY and in that sense religiosity and mind control by the priests, mullahs etc which are all forms of shirk as per Quran. All the rest comes later and engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman without taking up legal responsibility is a far greater liability than pornography unless the women are shown without their consent. I agree there are worse things than pornography. However it still is an issue that needs to be tackled before it gets even more out of hand. They already show terrible things on Television next they will be showing homosexuality, child porn.. who knows how far they will go?

Yes, but think for a second the men who hold the pornography industry into their hands, they will do whatever they can to keep it. THey have a lot of money. And in today's society porn is huge.
And also there are the mafias who hold the market of prostitution. This is greater than the porn industry i think, because these dudes might pull out a fight before being down.
And theres something even greater. It's the drug market. It's huge + giant. And we don't know, but maybe even some officiel dudes from some country makes money out of it, in secret.
And then theres corruption. I'd say it's the root all of these problemes. Because a non corrupted dude won't enjoin what is bad and will enjoin what is good.
But before all this, there is of what you talk, and before muslims move to try to make a true islamic society, there is what you say
