A theologian recommended it to me and said a lot of Islamic Scholars are very impressed with it. I have asked for references for these Islamic scholars since an online interview given by the author makes me think that this author is just a more sophisticated version of a Christian evangelist (geared to the Muslim populations).

      Tamara, Salaam,

Hello! I work with Mark Siljander and I saw through our Google Alert that you asked this question regarding the Islamic scholars who have endorsed Mark's book, A Deadly Misunderstanding. All of their names and recommendations are posted on the book website http//www.adeadlymisunderstanding.com/endorsements.php

Also, Mark has been studying the Qur'an for many years with Imam Dr. Abdel Azim Elsiddig of Chicago. I wanted to respond to your question and sorry for the impression the video you saw made on you; that is not the intention.

I would be interested of the thoughts from others on this forum who might have read A Deadly Misunderstanding as well.

      Thanks!

I have read the extract from the book that they give in the site. It doesn't tell me much. The prbHe le?do el extracto que ponen del libro en este sitio. No me dice gran cosa. El problem created by the British Empire to the Palestinians and fostered and enlarged by the successor of that Empire in present days has nothing to do with religion. They are not disputing religi?n, it is a matter of international law and no amount of fiddling with religion is going to settle it. Palestinians can be christians muslim or jews and they are equally palestinians. Israelis are mostly arrieligious with a number of ultra orthodox jews. That doesn't matter. What matters is that Palestine is a remain of colonial past ment to tie with an imperial future to which we are being led unrelentingly. To put religion into the mix serves no ther purpose than mislead.

        Salaam
