Amri al-Qais' Poem - From Language Barrier
-
I did not recognize the underlined word (7th line from the bottom).
I did not know how to enlarge the font, sorry about that. If you can repost it with an enlarged font, I will replace it and delete the extra message/s.
I corrected what I found to be in need of correction.
I added a word to the third line from the bottom which I thought was missing and now the line is more balanced with the other lines -
Salaam maxq
I doubt that this poem is pre-islamic. The expressions of "dantis-saa3atu wan shaqqalqamar" (first line) and the last three lines are very qur'aanic, not just expression-wise, but also meaning-wise. And of course you know about the real Imru'ul Qais.
PS He is describing his sweetheart ;D

Yes and I also read the appologetic argument on IslamicAwareness.Org in the defence... sure the meter is Tawiil but how does that explain the sequences, or prove that it was written before the prophet's time.
