Wa-ith qulna lilmala-ikati osjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kana mina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri rabbihi afatattakhithoonahu wathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakum AAaduwwun bi/sa lilththalimeena badalan chap 18 verse 50

The phrase kanna min al jinni

Can all the experts please give your translations of this phrase.

    I see in this way

    Waith(And remember)qulna(we say)lil(to)malaikati(angels)osjudoo(bow)li(to)adama(adam)fasajadoo(bowed)illa(not)Ibleesa(Iblis)kana(was)min(of)al(that is)Jinni(hidden)........

The word Al in arabic refers to a definite article 'the'. But in some verses the reference is to 'what is' example al gaib in 9/94.

What the experts think about the above phrase kanna min al jinni?
