can we hear God?

then who is the spirit sent to mary to tell her she will have a child (jesus)? did God come to her? that would be strange since it says we sent Our spirit...
That's something that I still try to find an answer on.
it may not be a human shaped being with hands and legs, wearing a white sheet, with bird-like wings... hehe,
but it does seem (from reading the quran) that there are somekind of creations sent to deliver the message to humans, i heard that such creation is called gabriel (jibril),I think those creations were/are humans who could communicate with the Almighty clearly and maybe had the mission to verify messages from Him/Her/It to others who also could/can communicate with God. It's clear for us that the Scriptures talk about plain human beings just like us who could communicate with God just the way (maybe even in a very different and special way) we humans do.
but yes, God spoke directly to moses, so i'm wondering how,
and since laws of nature apply to all humans, then shouldn't we also be able to hear God?I believe we can hear messages from God and also see them. Moses is supposedly the only one who also could "see" God(?). Maybe there are more messengers who have spoken and "seen" God, but who've never been mentioned in the Scriptures. The Scriptures only mention a few of those messengers (Jesus, Moses, Abraham etcetera), but there were more. It was very common in the ancient times (in the time of the prophets) to communicate to the Great Force/Allah/God. I wonder how that changed to communication with spirits/ghosts and mythical(?) transparant angels. Nowadays if you claim to communicate with God you could be considered as mentally ill.

Sssssst... just listen. Is that voice in your head really yours? If you say 'yes', then you might consider people who claim that the voice in their head is not theirs as mentally ill. If you say 'no', then you're opening a door to a whole different world then the majority of people, a world of great possibilities.
ok in 4251 there are 3 ways mentioned,
one of them implies that God can talk to us behind a veil...
how does that go? how does it work? what do i have to do?Isn't that veil our body? Isn't our body the veil of our soul? angel

besides, i don't know how i could hear God's VOICE by reading the quran.and it does say that one of the ways God can talk to us is behind a veil, so it is possible, and it did happen before so why not now, so lets do it, why not, i mean He is our creator,
we should talk to Him and it'd be nice to hear Him talk back. -

Remember God's energy is in all of us. Which 'tells' us to do good things. See 1529, 3872
So when we adhere to do good messages we help our positive energy. When we adhere to bad messages we 'lose' our positive energy. That's why we have so many people who essentially have no 'positive' energy in them.

If you want something in writing, like a 'letter' from God, check out the quran. If you want something more 'visual', go outside and look around you, if you want some kind of 'voice', quiet the mind and listen deep within.

Yeah Zein, a friend of mine did make a phone call to God but instead got an answering machine. '( I'll present the recorded message later. That's a good start nerspi! ) Many people don't even hear their thoughts. It's something that takes a long time to do... patience. You have to watch your thoughts, like an 'outsider'. Just keep looking and you'll see them dissolve, like the way clouds do, if you concentrate real hard.

I don't think you can quiet the mind (easily anyway). Remember the brain is like a hard drive, it stores information and it's not easy to 'delete' that information. Meditation, salaat, or any of the like can help you have better thoughts, if utilized properly.
