    Does every one has to visit hell?

    Thanks in advance.

    1970 Then, it is We who are best aware of those who deserve to be burnt therein.
    1971 And every single one of you must pass by it. This for your Lord is a certainty that will come to pass.
    1972 Then We will save those who were righteous, and We leave the wicked in it on their knees.
    1973 And when Our clear revelations were recited to them, those who rejected said to those who believed "Which of the two groups of ours is more in authority and more prosperous?"
    1974 And how many generations have We destroyed before them? They had more wealth and more influence.

            "And there is none amongst you who will not reach her {place of hell}" {Refer 1971}
            Its Root is " ". It means "come, arrive, reach; lead cattle to water place; to make something reach somewhere. Let us find its meanings and perception from the Quran

            "He {Pharaoh} will lead his people on the Day of Judgment, and made them reach the Fire. And indeed woeful is this reaching place to which they are led" {Ref 1198}

            "And there came a caravan; and they sent their water-carrier and {reaching the well} he let down his bucket into the well" {Refer 1219}
            is a person who draws water from well etc then he carries it to make it reach to other people.
            It may please be noted and remembered here that the words made from this Root do not prescribe entering into a place but its meanings are restricted to reaching a point where the limit of a place start. This meanings have immediately been clarified in the very next verse where this word has occurred

            "And We shall let the sinners driven towards Hell, like thirsty cattle driven towards water place" {Refer 1986}
            Particle/preposition. It can be used both with regard to time and space. In simple terms "towards". After reaching the gates of hell those whose abode is that place shall be asked to enter into it.

            The "thin bridge" is the concept borrowed from Zoroastrians.

            "Most Merciful" does not convey a perception that He should not be an impartial Judge. Punishing criminals is nothing but an act of mercy for those who are not criminals. If some powerful personality/judge considers both pious and criminal as equal and does not reward and punish none could consider such a person as merciful. As a Judge Allah's mercy merely means that He will not punish more than what one deserved/asked for by his deed. And for pious His mercy means rewarding much more than what one deserved/earned.

              Incorrect rendition of Arabic linguistics. Also, why are the words underlined above capitalized?

                peace

                as far as visiting hell is conserned, yeah, everyone.

                i read that article, kinda implies that people will eventually exit hell (state of misery), is that right or did i misunderstand?

                because it says in other places that it will be in vain if they believe then (after they die)
                also, doesn't it say that christians or jews (don't remember which) will say they will burn in hell for a while, a few days and it says they are wrong, they will burn forever.

                besides, is it fair that lets say some disbeliever who was against islam who attacked and wanted to kill the prophet would be in the same place as that prophet?

                  The Quran is clear, everyone will see/pass hell. the problem with many people interpretation is that its limited to only this verse. so they will want to "redefine" what "hell" or what "pass" is etc etc. HOWEVER, when you read the quran in context, the verse make sense. everyone will see hell on the day of resurrection

                  1. hell will be created on the day of resurrections (6917)
                    1448] The day will come when this earth will be substituted with a new earth, and also the heavens, and everyone will be brought before GOD, the One, the Supreme.

                  2. it will be brought forth for everyone to see
                    On that day, Gehenna will be brought forth. On that day, the human being will remember - but what a remembrance - it will be too late.

                  the horrors of that day will be "hell" for us plus everyone will witness Hell, but GOD will save the righteous from those horrors and leave the other. So therefore everyone will SEE/PASS Hell (like you pass by a house when you drive).

                  get it?

                    Mazhar, SatanHatesMe, others.

                    What I gathered from your responses is that believers will be shown Hell and only criminals will be ordered to enter it. That seems consistent with rest of the Quran. At first glance these verses looked contradictory with other verses. Confusion is over.

                    Thanks
