                        The heading is "Sad-Ha-Ba".

As I've understood, you're wondering how someone who was bitten a fish can be that fish's friend. Right? The answer is that 'sahib' doesn't necessarily mean 'friend', but it could also mean someone associated with a certain thing or incident. Noah is associated with the fish because it bit him. You can check that for yourself. Ask someone even moderately knowledgeable of biblical stories about Noah, and they might just answer "The one who was swallowed by the whale, you mean?".

                          The actual dictionary or reliable source is not StudyQuran link which is written with a special mind set.The dictioanary is Lane'Lexicone;
I request to let me know heading under which Lane has described this meaning of showing any type of connection or link,

Secondly what meaning of Saahib and Saahibul Hoot ,he has mentioned.
If you are honest ,please come forward.

If your theory is accepted then anyone who sells book should be considered as "Saahibul Ilm" " because he has "some connection with knolewdge.
                          Right ?? A Quranist knowledge ?

                            Peace Allen,

I suggest you actually read the links I provided. All that you want to know is answered within those two pages.

But I doubt that you'll follow my suggestion, so here are two examples.

"Antunna sawaahibatu* yusufa" - "Ye are the female companions, or the mistresses, of Joseph; meaning, enticers to lewdness"

                            • = Feminine plural of Saahib.

See how the use of saahib doesn't necessarily denote a friendship?

The one you already mentioned, "Saahibu Ilmi", means "A possessor of science".

You are right, however, I couldn't find "any type of link" from lanes. But one could hardly say, though, after reading the usage of the word, that this needs to be spelled out.

I don't get the point you're trying to make here. "Saahibul Sijn" means "inmate in prison". You're not an inmate if you're simply visiting. But for the burned finger, definitely. "Saahibu al-naar" already means "inhabitant of hell". It would be ridiculous to claim that the fire/hell is their friend (as in friendship). Therefore, 'saahib' can clearly mean 'any type of link'.

Jumping to conclusions are we? This really says a thing or two about your intentions.

Lanes is the only online lexicon provided by studyquran.co.uk, but it is NOT the only dictionary utilized for PRL. Many others are too, for example "Abdul Omar Mannans Dictionary of the Holy Quran". The "any type of link" might have been quoted from somewhere else. But yeah, references would be great.

For the sake of your information ,Omar Abdulmannan belongs to same 'Group" as study quran .

Saahib = companion or associate. It might be physical or mental or ownership. But it does not point to temporary relationship.Saabinnaar = companion or associate of Fire. Not for those who are burn their finger in the kitchen.Where did you learn Arabic??

                                    Peace Allen,

What do you mean that Omar Adbul Mannan belongs to the same group as study quran?

Maybe it should be made clear that I don't speak Arabic, but I know some grammar.

But this is a matter of 'public persona'. Take mine for example. I'm a total stranger to most of the people in my town. They don't know my name, my age or where I live. If one day they saw me running from a dog that eventually caught up with me and bit me, how would they talk about this incident later? How would they refer to me? Since this dog-bite is a defining part of my public persona, people are likely to refer to me by mentioning a dog or a bite. Same with Noah and the fish.

But, if you are still contesting the fact that 'saahib' can denote something else than 'friend' (as in friendship), then you've were refuted two posts ago. Because "Sawaahibatu yusufa" doesn't mean "Female friends of Yusuf", "female seducers".

                                      Nadeem

I have never said that "Sahibul Hoot means Friend of Hoot."
I have asked you about your 'some link " theory
If someone has a few pennies in the pocket ,do you call him "Saahibul Maal"
If someone is having a few books ,do you call him "Saahibul Kitaab".
If someone is bitten by a dog ,do you call him as 'Saahibul Kalb"
If someone is having a book shop ,do you call him ,Saahibul Ilm"
please explain them with your "Some Link" theory ?
                                      Thanks

                                        Peace Allen,

I'm confused. I gave you those definitions because I took this "Arnold Yasin said that Jonah was bitten be a Shark. Is to be bitten by an animal can be considered to be "buddy/friend".?? Just curious" to mean that you were a bit puzzled over how a fish can be friends with someone it bit, and vice versa. Did I interpret you wrong?

Just say where you're going with this. What are you trying to prove?

                                          Peace Allen,

What do you mean that Omar Adbul Mannan belongs to the same group as study quran?

Omar Abdul Mannan is a great "Cheater".Just one example
Under the word he discusses the "iltaqama" and say
                                          Took into mouth (without swallowing).
By specifying "without swallowing" in parenthesis ,he wants to give the impression there is no meaning of swallowing in this word.

Now look at "Lane's Lexicon under same heading of "Iltaqama" .He says

                                          8See 1

it means "Iltaqama "has the same meaning as the verb form "1" (or heading "1"i.e Laqima"
Now if we look at Laqima ,it says

                                          Laqima luqmatan

                                          ,He swallowed the gobbet;

I agree iltaqama does mean to put something in mouth but it does not mean at all that it does not contain the meaning of swallowing.
                                          In summary
Iltaqama = to put something in mouth
Iltaqama = to put something in mouth and swallow it quickly.

                                          Confirm through Lane's Lexicon

The same meaning is put in other Arabic dictionaries

                                          ( )
                                          ( ) )

May I ask you why he needed to specify that "iltaqama " does not involve swallowing.
Is this not intellectual cheating ??
I hate such cheater because they some preconceived ,fabricated ideas in mind and they interpret the things accordingly.
