Although I am not a person of intelligence but here is my observation anyways
I still cannot get over the fact that Joseph put King's utensil in his brother's bag in order to keep his brother with him. I thought Islam advocates "say just" "do just" policy. This is clearly a deceptive policy, that Joseph followed.
How is this different than this
My brother is planning to migrate to Australia. I am not happy about this as I will miss him. I dont want him to leave Canada. So the day he was travelling to the airport I placed some drugs in his bad. Canadian authorities arrested him. He is still in Canada; out on bail. I still have my brother with me. Is this Islamic behaviour?

Nice way of justifying the act. Lets say even if God planned it that way; how can God choose deception as the solution? If God can choose deception as an acceptable solution then I can do that too. Then I am also justified in putting drugs in my borther's bag so that he does not migrate to Australia leaving me alone in Canada.

There is no reality and sanctity in the concept of "adopted son". There is possibility that it may jeopardize the sanctity of relationship. In any case, it was the plan of Joseph (though God's plan, on a much grander scale), not God's. Anything not good is attributed to the person, because God does only good - see 479. So, in this case, he was in error.
