sura 53
-
Only those who are firmly rooted in knowledge ( al-rasikhun fil-3ilm) can know the interpretation of these verses.
They are the 12 Holy Imams and infallible descendants of the Prophet Muhamad.
The 12th Imam, the Mahdi, who is in occulation, has the true Koran with him. It is 17 times bigger than the incomplete Quran you are now reading. It also contains the true interpretations of all the Suras, including 53.The "descending star" being mentioned refers to a fallen star which landed on the house of Imam Ali, as proof of his rightful Imamate. Thus, God is swearing, by the "fallen star", that the Prophet was not speaking of his own accord , but from revelation, when he declared Ali to be his rightful successor.
Those who deny the Imamate of Ali and his 11 descendants, are KAFIR INFIDELS.
The Mahdi (May God hasten his appearance) shall smite you all for your heresies > -
37 He is the One who sent down to you the Scripture, from which there are governing verses; they are the essence of the Scripture; and others which are similar. As for those who have disease in their hearts, they will follow what is similar from it seeking to confuse, and seeking to derive an interpretation. But none know its interpretation except God and those who are well founded in knowledge, they say "We believe in it, all is from our Lord." And none will remember except the people of understanding.
what's that got to do with me?
is something wrong with asking questions? what, i'm not supposed to verify things? am i just supposed to except it the best way i interpret it and draw my own conclusion and believe that blindly?
ok fine, even if muhammad is adressed, what about the rest? who did muhammad see?
Dear
It is really important to satisfy the mind in case of "Eemaan".When we do not know the answer ,it is very easy to stop the questioner by saying "it is irrelevant".While Quran says;
1643
Ask the "ahl ul zikr " if you do not knowSo much so the prophet demanded this "satisfaction of mind".Look at this aya
2260
(2260) Call to mind the other event also, when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how Thou bringest the dead back to life?" He said "Have you no faith in this?" Abraham humbly replied, "I do believe but I ask this to reassure my heart." *See how even the Prophets demanded this re-assurance.
Quran is a concrete reality.Only those verses which are concerned with "metaphysical information" are allegorical because our senses can never perceive those realities in their actual concept.
Otherwise there is nothing else "Allegorical" in the Quran. -
peace all
Where information is unspecified, and underivable from the context/quran, then it is futile to go further (aside from comparing to physical reality) because it leads to pure conjecture. This has no bearing or limitation on asking questions & understanding fully but it leaves out any means for people to go astray providing they adhere to everything in the quran.
so why is it there? why talk about it in the first place? why mention something like that when people will form their own opinions? ok maybe it's clearer in original arabic but these translations are hard to understand
so does it imply that muhammad saw God?
if not, what does it mean?somebody has to know, otherwise why is it mentioned?

Please differentiate between what I am saying and don't close your mind and be like those who need spoon feeding. The information is there but anyone pinning their own theory on the Quranic verses without full & clear Quranic evidence is following conjecture, and hearsay and falsehood. If additional information is not there and it doesn't correlate with reality then it is either false or allegorical. What do you believe 2435 means? Can you verify it as per 1736?
so does it imply that muhammad saw God?
How does one "see" God, an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent being that transcends all and created vision itself? Is this "God" subjected to his created restrictions like "visibility"? Remember that "vision" only comes from immaterial objects bouncing off solid objects and our eyes simply measure the difference and give them colours. Is God, the one who set this law, therefore subject to it?
if not, what does it mean?
I gave you my guess earlier
A.) So jibreel, God's messenger/spirit/whatever is supposed to be telling us about "our friend", and asking us to believe blindly about someone we have never seen in our lives and never will see? Even after 1736 and 2134, and 2141 and 3425 where Muhammad is told to speak? I don't think so.
B.) In this case it depends on who is being addressed, either Muhammad or a companion of Muhammad. The Quran was revealed to Muhammad, here it says "your companion", 2+2 = 4.
Can it be one "Ahmad"? ;D
Keeping in mind 5311, does it refer to a physical vision? The most important thing to consider is 5312. Are we in a position to EITHER doubt or acknowledge this snippet, again, keeping in mind 1736? No, unless you can bring the evidence.
somebody has to know, otherwise why is it mentioned?
Every last aya serves a purpose.

Hi All,
who agrees then?
The two points to note in sura 53.
A star goes down and the person concerned Experiences god on another ocassion aswell.
Tahir ul Qadri (ی
Yousuf Ali It is He Who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you, that ye may guide yourselves, with their help, through the dark spaces of land and sea We detail Our signs for people who know. How do the stars help? By guiding, maybe!
Tahir ul Qadri ( م ( ر
Yousuf Ali By the Star when it goes down,-Which great star went down? Pharoh, maybe!
Moses is the only prophet to experience God twice-I think.
Now the first time Moses was inspired by God
Tahir ul Qadri
Yousuf Ali "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa.Tahir ul Qadri ( !) ( ر ( د ( ر (ی ( ا !
Yousuf Ali "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,-Tahir ul Qadri ( ر ( م ( ی !
Yousuf Ali "Now do thou throw thy rod!" but when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps O Moses!" (It was said), "Draw near, and fear not for thou art of those who are secure. Now the second time Moses is being inspired
Tahir ul Qadri ( ر (ﷲ (ب (ی
Yousuf Ali So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.Tahir ul Qadri ( م (ب ( ر
Yousuf Ali We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration "Throw (now) thy rod"and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake!Tahir ul Qadri ( ے
Yousuf Ali We said "Fear not! for thou hast indeed the upper handThe give away
Tahir ul Qadri ( ق (ر ( و
Yousuf Ali For indeed he saw him at a another descent,Remember the first time above Moses was inspired.
God Bless All - and i may be wrong.

Does "star" in Arabic really have the same meaning?
-
Dear mz
Is Tahirul Qadri's translation available on the net ?Salaams Allen,
Try-
http//www.openburhan.com/
And Op,
according to Quranic Dictionary by Omar,
Najama = To appear,Rise,begin,accomplish,ensue,proceed.
So Najmi ? ,
wasn't Pharaoh stopped in his tracks from proceeding along his evil ways by Moses.
When an exact word isn't available we have to deduce from what we are being given - i think.
and it also says
Najmun = star
Salaam Br.

From verse 1-9, I understand that it is God addressing the companions of (Muhammad) about them not believing that he met Gabriel.
1 God swears by His creation (the vanishing star)
2. That "your friend" has neither gone astray nor erred
3. nor does he "your friend" speaks of his own desire
4 and that he was taught by the one mighty in power (Gabriel)
6-9 about gabriel
10 I do not know who is talking here (should be God; probably Gabriel but unlikely to have only one or two verses by him). If it is God, who is the pronoun in (his slave)? Could "his slave" here mean "Gabriel's slave"; a figurative meaning that alludes to a complete obedience to what Gabriel says? I think so. It's like saying that during revelation, Muhammad is a complete slave before Gabriel and to what Gabriel reveals to him, since Gabriel is a direct messenger from God.
