1 - al kaAAbata, root Kaf-Ayn-Ba
2 - al bayta al harama literally means "the house the restriction", and it clearly suggests a governing structure (i.e. law/decision-making house), similar to "House of Representatives" (U.S.A) or "House of Commons" (U.K).
3 - qiyaman, (n. m.) root Qaf-Alif/Waw-Miim (core meaning of "to make straight". The only other occurrence of the exact same derivative "qiyaman" appears in 45, in which it means "to manage". This fits perfectly with the root meanings. Can the traditional-view of "al kabba" be a standing/management for the people, month of restrictions, the guidance/offering, and the administration/garlands? No! It is an inanimate object and cannot make any decisions, therefore "qiyaman" must refer to a decision-making vehicle, which is exactly what "al bayt al haram" is.
4 - al hadya, root ha-Dal-Ya.
5 - qala-ida, root Qaf-Lam-Dal. Consider requirements of HJJ, thus infrastructure/control involved in such an event.597 is a very important sign in terms of getting to the bottom of what kaaba is.

hmm ....Very interesting DArgento, plus this understanding would seem to make sense with mz's views on 'rmDh' and 'shahr' as well -- not a 'month' of restrictions, but an instance or situation where you restrain yourself. In this case, a governing structure makes good sense.

I think I made a slight mistake in that thread
I think the literal meaning of "al bayt al haram" is "the inviolable/restricted house/establishment", but of course is still a decision-making vehicle.
I agree that 597 seems a pivotal sign/ayat. Unfortunately, no-one thus far, as far as I'm aware, has clarified the grammar of the verse, as stated in the original thread.

I have al bayt al haraam as the restricted house. A "house" is a place that you dwell. Where is it in life that the real "I" dwells? It is in the Self Image that we dwell. If you sit back and watch, you will verify that we live in images. We are always playing out scenarios in our minds. We dont like our job, soon the way to work we are residing in the image of getting to work and our boss saying something to upset you, etc. Or we are having relationship troubles and we are constantly imaging something happening in that area.
It is our Self Image that guides our actions. They say a picture(image) is worth a thousand words....your self image is made up of a web of words, your beliefs about your "self" that are based on either truth and/or knowledge. SO we need to "clean the house" by puttig the right beliefs in our minds(subconcious) so that our Self Image is that of our true nature, not of a weak, limited earth creature.

My take on Al-Ka'bata here is one of its meanings from Al-Ka&bu meaning Honor/Glory. Taking into consideration the intensive feminine as in khaleef and khaleefat, or allaam and allaamat al-ka&bata naturally means true/great honor/glory. Now in this verse you will note that al-ka&bata is in mansoob. Over and Over again in the Quran the mansoob is used in place of prepositions. so ja&ala allahu al-ka&bata is God put in great/true honor al-baita al-haraama (the sacred houses i.e. sanctuaries). (I understand the same meaning for Al-ka&bati in 595 the gift reaches true honor is an expression for 'a truly honorable gift). And all this is in the context of Hajj. So my take on this is that God is telling us that God has made the sacred houses to which we make pilgrimage truly honorable. I have understood this passage in this way for some time now, and when reading the Arabic of the Quran you will see how mansoob can replace the use of prepositions. I will look for some Quranic examples that will make this obvious to you all.
Also bait means house, family or a place taken as a home. Not establishment.
