Peace be upon you,
with all due Respect.I always stop at this verse and ask myself, if we jave free will
824 O you who believe, answer the call of God and His messenger when he calls you to what will grant you life. And know that God comes between a person and his heart, and that to Him you will be gathered.
And even though I am aware and I realize that we do have a free will and an opportunity to choose and a chance to accept or reject, I still wonder what is the leson/meaning/wisdom in regards to the second sentence of the verse.
Does anyone else have any comments/views regarding this verse, do you see something I don't?
God comes between a person and his heart. I wonder what that means. God knows best.Glory be to God.

If my brother is murdered my heart tells me to seek revenge, but my god tells me to be forgiving.
If you look at 824 from that perspective, it is a pretty good idea to have God between you and your heart, no?
Also, if there is anyone who knows what is in my heart better than myself, it's God. So of course he comes between me and my heart.
Anyways, that is my view.

You people make yourselves consciously answer/respond to Allah and answer/respond affirmatively to the Messenger when he calls you people towards that/Grand Qur'aan which will give you people life

And you people may get informed/know/understand that Allah is the One who transmits/and (or) creates a barrier in between the brain and one's heart. from its storage place to the chest could we say a word despite there being nothing wrong with the entire system of speech? In simple words we can say that someone has become a barrier between the brain and the chest resulting in hindrance to the flow of data]Surat Al Anfaal-8

with all due Respect.I've been thinking lately more then before about this.
Is it possible that a person changes due to his change of friends and even location?
Because during my time in Ljubljana, Slovenia, I've been more depressed and kept thinking only how to get into USA.
During these past three years of my living in UK, Thank God, I feel that Uk is better then USA. So when I read God comes between a person and his heart, I think that I changed because I changed locations.God knows best.

I'm still pondering on whether it talks about the relationship between the source of emotions (i.e. the "feeling" self) and the source of thoughts (i.e. the "thinking" mind); or about the relationship between two most vital points of the human life (heart and brain); or else, since seems to mean more of "man as a whole" (mature man) than anything constituting its part (mind/brain/intelligences).
If anything, this signifies the connection between Allah and us. In what way, i have nothing but vague glimpses. Could be "inspiration", "light", "guidance", ... (notice i'm using positive notions since the verse is in contrast with the preceding verses, 821-23).
Qalb, , ("to turn, to return, to change upside down, change, change direction" etc) does seem to me to give the impression of some kind of consciousness capable of making a decision --especially on which "direction" to take--rather than a physical heart. And the direction? Ultimately "... And that to Him you will be gathered."
So, the notion that "Allah comes between a person and his (deciding) heart" is rather enlightening to me (obviously in a positive way), given how we, as humans, often make less-than-best decisions in our daily life. Especially for such an important decision as "responding/answering" to the "call to that which gives you life" (possibly in the presence of danger/difficulties as well) -- unless you're a proven saint or what. This verse is an embracing, strengthening wisdom, at least to me it is.

with all due Respect.Well, sometimes I'm torn between the two decisions and even though my present thoughts tell me to take this path somehow - Thank God - soemthing stronger, wiser, better, determined, tells me to take the path that, even though seems far and really distant, is the best. Glory be to God, Thank God for guiding me.

When I ponder over the quran, shawnee smith is the first thing that comes to my mind. Followed by jigsaw I.e. the puzzle waiting to be unraveled...
