    Peace Yosemite,

    You stated

everytime you feel lust, anger, jealousy, envy and other stuff like that, think of God

Exactly my point. It is through life experiences that we think of God. We cannot really think of God outside of life experiences.

    Peace,
    Tay

Yes, the question should also be what does "thinking about God" mean? What does it really mean to "think about God most of the time"? What is God? We won't know for sure, entirely, but we can come up with what God is NOT.

God is not (as I believe) some character or individual whitch you can focus on like you can focus on anybody.

I think it helps to think of God as some force which is goodness, truth, honesty, justice, mercy, helpfulness etc... and the way in which we could "think about God" is simply to be good, truthful, honest, fair, merciful, helpful, grateful etc, realizing that we should move in the same direction as this real, existing and almighty force of truth and love. Just "thinking" about some divinity and then doing, or not doing, everyting out of fear doesn't seem very natural or constructive.

      Just my half cent...

The problem is that i'm shy plus i dont know what to talk

        brother Tarikh

these tend to work for me

taste in music, the weather, ask politely her name and where she is from ("excuse me, i see you every day but i've never met you. my name is Tarikh..." and let her fill in her part), or give her a small compliment.

i'm very shy, too. take your time, see how it works out.

          Peace all,

that was roughly what i was going to tell tarikh when i read his question above. IMO it is shirk only if your let your love/lust/crush be stronger that your principles of morality.

Even I can help you there, always, ALWAYS, find something you have in common with her, use that as a base and let it grow.

I'm also having some problems in a (i prefer to call it a relationship, but it would be identified as a crush right now) relationship, I asked her out and she never gave me an answer. That was about two months ago, we still talk, almost as if it never happened. I try to talk about it, but so far no real progress. I know that she is very busy with band, JROTC, school, and home, and stressed; but I feel that its taken to long for a yes or no.

Peace, thanks guys. You all have good points. I dont know how the situation is at yr side, but here talking to a girl can have various effects. People poke in your business, they backbite. When a hindu girl is seen talking to a non hindu, she's instantly warned not to and vice versa. That's why europe and usa are better. People seldom have racial considerations. Whereas here, there are classifications and sub classifications of race and caste. Even among the so called muslims who have a caste system. Surtees who originate from Surat, India cannot wed those who dont. Such a shame to see this and these people consider quranaloners as disbelievers.
So there is not only ice to be broken but also the issues i just mentioned. And also, how to get married when there's no one to witness the marriage. Sure, there is the civil ceremony, but what about the religious one? I dont wanna get married according to hadith based rules.

Lobster say, don't ask her out. Take it back (if you can do that). You're what, 14? You have enough time later on for relationships. If you like her as a person, enjoy her friendship, because it's possible that you may not get to have much of a relationship with her if she isn't interested in going out.
