I think that Darwin, rather than as a scientist, was an ideologist, and an imperial ideologist at that. His voyages, descriptions and guesses served to give a "scientific" appearance to a world view of each against all and survival of the fitest, which so conveniently came to ratify the social, economic and imperial needs of the powerful of his time. His evolutionary ideas were not even his, but borrowed at least from Lamarck, who really was indeed a scientist. What is now known as darwinism, as I gather, doesn't come from Darwin but from later scientists who did put the science where Darwin hat just put ideology (of the worst species -no pun intended- that later scientes also attempted to withdraw) and speculation. Indeed we seem to have got stuck with the name of this chap just for nothing, but with the negative side that his "darwinism" precisely confers respectability on a conception of existence which is competition ad nauseam.

Also there seems to be a rebirth of "lamarckism", which is an interesting development and we may still have great margin to explore in different directions for heredity and acquisition.

    Salaam

Sorry but that was a bulls*** hoax of the highest order. Nothing more than a lie.

      http//www.skeptics.com.au/articles/dawkins.htm

He went on and on and on but nerver answers a very simple question. Darwinist are philosophers who hide behind science. He didn't answer the question because he couldn't and then started giving us all these long and boring and complicated answer when he could have just said no.

You're correct, he dodges the question

The best we can do is probably to forget about the genome itself and look at its product, the "phenotype", the working body of the animal or plant itself. In 1951, J W S Pringle, who later became my Professor at Oxford, suggested using a Shannon-type information measure to estimate "complexity". Pringle wanted to express complexity mathematically in bits, but I have long found the following verbal form helpful in explaining his idea to students.

The point being, that the "11 second pause" was a hoax.

          Peace "sharp001,"
I noticed that you are in denial of the Darwinian theory of evolution which has infact MUCH MORE EVIDENCE to support it than the big bang theory and is more probable than the probability given at the end of most DNA parent tests(~ 99.9996... %). Most reasonable people accept that they are the parent after such tests and even sunnis accept the big bang. Here are some of the latest evidences for evolution
          http//youtube.com/watch?v=zi8FfMBYCkk
          http//youtube.com/watch?v=tk2jQgLhHnE
          http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endogenous_retrovirus
And finally A HUGE LIST OF EVIDENCES FROM DIVERSE BRANCHES ALL SUPPORTING EVOLUTION TOOK PLACE
http//talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/ (Take a careful look at how almost every step has a "confirmation" and a "POTENTIAL FALSFICATION" part exactly like its supposed to be in science. Also consider the predictions made in certain parts which confirmed the theory)
99.9% of all scientists who are experts in the area ALL independently came to the conclusion that evolution occurred i.e. common decent eith modifications including humans evolving from apelike creatures. GOD Bless!

Astrophysicist Paul Davies in his book The Goldilocks Enigma

There is no doubt that, even in the crude form, the hypothesis of an intelligent designer applied to the laws of nature is far superior then the designer considered in the previous section (of his book red.), who violates the laws of nature from time to time by working miracles in evolutionary history. Design-by-laws is incomparably more intelligent than design-by-miracles.

If I were an omnipotent being who wanted to make an inhabited universe like ours, and I could achieve this simply by conjuring up what I wanted when I wanted it, I wouldnt regard my activities as very clever. But to select a set of laws that, without nay periodic fixing up and micromanagment, can bring a universe into being and bring about self-organisation, self-complexification and self-assembly of life and conciousness-well, that looks very clever indeed!

So the intelligentdesign beloved of the Intelligent Design movement strikes me as not very intelligent at all, in contrast to a designer of laws of nature which by themselves have such astonishing creative ability without the need for intervention and miracles. Intelligent design of the laws does not conflict with science, because it accepts that the whole universe runs itself according to physical laws, and that everything that happens in the universe has a natural explanation.

There are no miracles other than the miracle of nature itself. You dont even need a miracle to bring the universe into existence in the first place, because the big bang may be brought within to explain the origin of the universe from nothing, or by assuming something like eternal inflation. The designer-of-laws is responsible for the universe, and might be thought of as upholding its existence at every moment, but does not tinker with its day to day operation. The type of God I am describing comes close, I think, to what many scholarly theologians-and for that quite a few scientists-profess to believe in.

The evidence is so overwhelming that even the pope believes in evolution

JK- Yep thats correct the pope did acknowledge evolution and so have many other even protestant christians like "kabane52" on youtube for example. That should really tell those something who still deny it. GOD Bless!

                  Peace all --

                  It's all determinism ;D

Really, use the "God is a computer, we are the program" analogy. As you say, why pray or ask for forgiveness? Does praying to something invisible or asking for forgiveness work at all? Answer

                  853 - This is because Allah has never changed a favor which He has conferred upon a people until they change their own condition; and because Allah is Hearing, Knowing;

Again, a case of determinism, no change can happen unless someone changes themselves. "God" has/uses no powers of intervention (tricky thing to say) but still has full control.

The human bodies are as the computer and dna code is as the software program. Impossible for molecules of the 92 natural elements to form themselves into billions of lines of unique DNA 4 bit chemical code for each species ? software cannot write itself.

                  That is the evolutionist claim.

Given that you're typing that, clearly not. And software can write itself, by modifying a portion of itself that isn't in use at the binary level. Exactly the case with DNA. Obviously someone had to program it to do that, but your analogy is like saying "impossible for millions of electrons running through silicion to make an image on my screen".

                    That is the evolutionist claim.

We must be talking about different "evolutionists" because what I heard comes about from a starting self-assembly, and then endless trial and error. Of course, the starting self-assembly is the problem here.

Peace ""Nun de plume" and all those against evolution,
You have to rid yourself off the false thought that evolution is totally random for as much as the variations in the DNA appear to be random(it could be argued though that they vary within certain ranges also which allow it to adjust quicker and more efficiently to the environment.) , natural selection is ANYTHING BUT RANDOM. The constants of the universe are finely tuned so as for living creatures and complex systems to self assemble. GOD Bless!

Klein thinks Homo sapiens may have been anatomically modern 150,000 years ago, but did not become behaviorally modern until about 50,000 years ago, when a genetic mutation related to cognition made us smarter.
He theorizes that this change in thinking ability enabled modern humans to craft sophisticated tools, build permanent lodgings, hunt more effectively, and possibly develop language. It also led to greater travel.

This is all theory requiring addition research although something definitely happened about 50,000 years ago.

The constants of the universe are finely tuned so as for living creatures and complex systems to self assemble.

Then we should see new creatures popping continuously, right?

We don?t know the exact nature of God or the physics of creation involved.

It?s still a matter of debate, looking at all the information which is still inconclusive to put faith despite what scientists or pope believes. Btw, what else does the pope believe? D

JK- No we should not. Its a gradual process and takes many years to notice some minor changes in the population of a species. Consider as a very simple example the appearnce of your child whilst growing upto a certain stage. Youd not notice the changes as fast whilst your living with him/her as compared to an outsider who visits you perhaps every year or so. Minor changes accumulate to form bigger changes. Every living being including us is in continuous transition. In some creatures though like the mud skipper, seals, penguins, etc the transitions are more obvious though than others. Also take a look at all the evidence i provided in the links in the other post above. GOD Bless!

Relatively speaking, 50,000 or so years of human civilization in comparison to an Earth that is 6 billion or so years old is like 10 minutes compared to a month, or roughly 0.0000083%. Evolution has much to do with drastic climate and landscape change. How much of that can we really expect to see through such a small window?

Take a logical population from where? For change to occur in DNA code requires an initial code.

Why, who programmed the code as such or did the code program itself?

Relatively speaking, 50,000 or so years of human civilization in comparison to an Earth that is 6 billion or so years old is like 10 minutes compared to a month, or roughly 0.0000083%. Evolution has much to do with drastic climate and landscape change. How much of that can we really expect to see through such a small window?

I meant the initial germ thingy which evolutionists bandy about which all life descended from.

Their DNA code or similar should be popping every moment in the cosmic blender of life.

                                Cyanobacteria Fossil Record
The cyanobacteria have an extensive fossil record. The oldest known fossils, in fact, are cyanobacteria from Archaean rocks of western Australia, dated 3.5 billion years old. This may be somewhat surprising, since the oldest rocks are only a little older 3.8 billion years old!

                                Peace

This becomes a problematic question if you believe that Adam was a single individual man.

This is not necessarily true. Adam is a collective noun indicating MANKIND. God created Adam (mankind) and made him his "khalifa" (vicegerent) on Earth. God also made the "malai'ka" (forces of nature) prostrate themselves to Adam (mankind). This prostration is symbolic. It means that God made these natural forces serve mankind.

Furthermore, there is no Eve mentioned anywhere in the Quran. The Quran mentions Adam and his mate (zawjuhu), not Adam and his wife (imra'atuhu). Hence the phrase Adam and his mate must be understood symbolically or collectively.

Those who are used to talking about Adam and Eve as two simgle idividuals are under the influence of the corrupted Jewish scriptures.

The Quran does not contradict science. Belief that the 6 billion+ humans on teh Earth today came from a single couple is scientifically impossible.

Furthermore, the Quran states clearly that Noah was the first prophet.

Peace is on him who follows the guidance 20-47

Those were some of the PROPHETS on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears. 19-58

Have a look at it and could you show the verse and ayat where in Quran it is said that Nuh is the first prophet?

JK- The initial code lies in the fine tuning of the universe which then allows for the self assembly of complex systems including living things around us. How many times do i have to say this. The code doesnt start in the DNA. It starts from the beginning of the universe.

I meant the initial germ thingy which evolutionists bandy about which all life descended from.

JK- Yes infact there are "alien" microbiological organisms whove passed through another phase of evolution but they remained just that, microorganisms because natural selection didnt allow them to evolve further into what we term as macro living beings. For the last time its the cosmos which contains the master code which is then induced into DNA via complex processes including all the laws of gravity, chemical bonding, etc.

JK- Yes living beings which are more or less well adopted to their environment do not change much for very long periods of time. An example of a macro living being which hasnt changed much over a long period of time would be the bat. So this poses no prblem whatsoever for evolution. GOD Bless!

JK- Does "prophets...from the posterity of X" or "prophets...from the descendants of X" mean X necessarily included? Infact it would more probably imply the opposite that X is not included otherwise the statement would most likely run "those were some of the prophets...and so was X and...". GOD Bless!
