        Hi,

Can someone please tell me the legal procedure to become a Muslim in India.

        Regards,
        VVA

What is your definition of "Muslim" anyway?
And why do you think there should be a "legal procedure" to become one?
And who do you think should have the "authorization" to legalize your Muslim-ness?

        Salam

          Peace VVA,

You submit to GOD, then you're already muslim. (you're humble and recognise His systems and authority). You submit to only the ONE GOD ... you avoid the only unforgivable sin. you believe in all His Messengers and Books and the afterlife and do righteous! then you're also mumun (a believer).

The traditional sectarian Muslims have a ritual in which you have to say in Arabic that you testify that there is no God but Allah and that His messenger is Muhammed. So that you recognise one God and also the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).

Of course you don't need rituals .. because according to the quran

320 So if they dispute with thee, say "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.

So it's just a matter of have you submitted? ... you "I submit" ... you're muslim. and May Allah guide you and guide us all.

318 There is no god but He That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.

Keep seeking knowledge and keep seeking truth. And may Allah bless you.

I don't know about changing details on government papers or anything in India sorry ... if that is what you really wanted to know.

          Peace

          peace

              Hi,

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

I am asking about legal procedure because, if i want to visit Mecca, i will not be granted Visa as I am not a Muslim on Papers and many such things.

Even my final rites wont be carried as a Muslim if its not on Papers. D

              Regards,
              VVA

He said he needs papers so he can go to Mecca! ... Sorry we haven't been able to help.

I don't know brother VVA, why not just ask your local travel agent about it?

Is India one of those countries where you have an ID card that says your religion and your sect written on it or something?

I don't know anything about certain conditions to enter Saudi either!

Hang in there ... maybe someone here has connections and we'll get the information you need inshaa Allah! otherwise just talk to people around you D

You have to seek help from a "Notary Public" agent and also an Imam from a local, registered mosque

                          Strange this topic,

From what i know you don't need any documents but money in your wallet.

I am a British passport holder and it doesn't state i am a Muslim and i have been to Mecca a number of times, and no one ever asked me if i was a Muslim. I think the agent usually fills in all the documents- don't they?

I think just might be that the money you spend on the way makes all the differance.

Isn't that what the whole trip is all about?

                          Salaams All.

Why would you want to go to mecca anyway? Doing pilgrimage in this land of corrupted teachings? Avoid at all costs.

                                Salam.

                                Wanna become a Muslim?
Peace4life quoted the right verses submit to God. That's it.

Sunnis have asked me what does a person say when s/he wants to becaome a Muslim? My answer is always this it's the thing in your heart that counts, not just the words.

I have been saying for years i'm an actor, writer, director and a producer. people took me as a writer only after i wrote a script. They will recognise me as actor when they see me in the local cinema in a psychological thriller opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt and Gary Oldman.
                                God willing.

I will be a director after i direct a movie and a producer after i invest a certain amount of money in a movie.

See my point? After you read The Quran and execute its orders and practice it, then you will be a Muslim. Ask God to guide you. Rely on God, trust God, God knows you don't, i don't and sunnis follow desires.

                                Peace.
