    As Salaamu Alaikum all,

As Salaat is worship. Worship is devotional obedience. Worship is to obey Allah?s will, submit your will to do His. Not only is As Salaat worship/devotional obedience, but so should everything that we do in life be directed as such. As Salaat is going through training given to you by Allah the most High. The orientation of the mind to find or know thyself, is the most important thing. The Quran is given to wake up the mentally and spiritually dead to their original nature, or fitr. Allah created the human person to ascend in his person and soul. Allah created us for freedom of intellect. We should ask questions and learn all about ourselves, our nafs. Surrendering is to want to be reconciled with Allah?s original purpose for our creation. As Salaat is worship as a ritual that holds many signs and keys for our growth as human persons and human souls. To be able to stand up in your soul is the greatest achievement for the human being. As Salaat is a ritual that preserves knowledge. Knowledge about how to receive, follow and obey the guidance given to the human being from Allah.

Ritual 1a. The prescribed order of a religious ceremony. B. The body of ceremonies or rites used in a place of worship. 2a. The prescribed form of conducting a formal secular ceremony. B. The body of ceremonies used by a fraternal organization. 3. A book of rites or ceremonial forms. 4. rituals. A. A ceremonial act or series of such acts. B. The performance of such acts. 5a. A detailed method of procedure faithfully or regularly followed. B. A state or condition characterized by the presence of established procedure or routine.

Allah gives us many detailed descriptions about the ritual of As Salaat in Al Quran. The rituals are physical acts that preserve the knowlege and guidance contained in them and hidden from those who refuse to follow the command to perform them, or from those who do so without the sincerity required by Allah. The physical aspects of performing the ritual are not meant to be the most important aspect, but the spiritual growth that you get from performing the physical aspects of the ritual as instructed to you by Allah. Just as in this life the human body is connected to the human soul, and once they are separated, i.e. death, this existence ends; also in As Salaat if one leaves off the physical aspects as defined by Allah in Al Quran, the spiritual aspects will be dead according to what Allah has given as the guidance for it in Al Quran.

When one is trying to define As Salaat from Al Quran, one must be conscious of the different grammatical forms that the root of the phrase is used as, S L W. All words containing the same root word are not meant or intended to mean the same thing in ANY language, including Quranic Arabic. Please notice the different definitions and grammatical forms of words with the root S L W already pointed out by DArgento earlier in this post. To disregard grammatical forms in definitions is to cheat yourself in understanding.

    As Salaamu Alaikum, peace

      Peace brother Kyle,

It is great to hear from you on the forum.

It means that you will educate them...and educate by the way means "to draw out", not to "put in", so we already have the knowledge within us, it needs to be drawn out.

But I wanted to elaborate further and give my understanding of salaat. Education is something that is done all over the world already, people go to all kinds of sermons about how they should behave and why they should do it, but people keep on treading in darkness. The acoholic goes to church and says he will stop drinking, but he keeps on drinking, the chocolate-holic says they will stop eating sweets, but they keep eating sweets, the lustful, the cigarette smoker, the crack addict, the thief, the horder....they all STATE what they wish to happen, however they continue to ACT as they have been acting, why is this? Can we all not confirm in our very own lives that there are things we will to change but find ourselves doing the same old things although we really want to change?

Salaat is the process of reprogramming the subconcious, which is how we make this changes. The God creates all things in pairs...man is an individual, meaning an indivisible duality. There is the SELF (consiousness that wills), and there is the NOT SELF (the subconsious that has the ENERGY to carry things out). So when the SELF, which has no energy in it, says "I want to stop smoking"....the NOT SELF keeps carryng out the old program as soon as dinner is over and someone offers you a cigarette. There is a process that must be undertaken on a regular basis to REPROGRAM your mind(subconcious) so that you replace the OLD THOUGHTS with NEW THOUGHTS/CORRECT THOUGHTS. It is CORRECT THOUGHTS that the God and his malaika send down to mankind.

Have you ever sat and meditated and tried to clear your mind from all thoughts? If you have not it is a must...so that you can verify for yourself that thoughts are generated in your spirit, not of your own willing. What I mean is that you will be siting there and all of a sudden a strem of thoughts will come to you that you did not ask to come....this happens all day long but we must become aware of it. There is thought drift that effects us all day unless we actively pput thoughts together which is called "thinking", but when we are not thinking, thought drifts still come, and most times they are thoughts that are not in line with truth and it can be said that we are alone with our "shayteen".

So for now, I will just end saying that salaat is programming of the subconcious, not just education, because as science teaches us with the ebbinghaus curve (I think thats what its called), we forget mush of what is communicated to us in only 24 hours, that is why the God asks us throughout this message "Do you remember???"

It is only by patience and salaat(programming) that we take the truth and repetedly in a state of trace (halfway between awake and sleep/conscious and subconcious/the time when day and night merge) that our subconcious begins to change and DELIVER US from darkness to light. Yes, the subconcious(nafs) is our vehicle of power, that is why it is said the he who purifies it succeeds and he who corrupts it fails.

I agree with what you said and I would like to learn more from you. My understanding of "salat" is not that different from yours. I guess I see "salat" as more fundamental. For example, how did you arrive at the above wisdom? It is through "salat". It is interesting that you mention "he who purifies it succeeds and he who corrupts it fails" from Chapter 91 because I think that this is "zakat"/purification, which is closely tied to "salat". So our purifying or our "re-programming" is tied to "salat".

Please let me know what you think.

      Peace,

      Ayman

Some nice observations about life indeed. This is also a part of what "scientology" teaches, what do they call that book, dynatics, or something like that. I read it many many years ago, even before being introduced to Al Quran.

But to pick up on your train of thoughts, As Salaat does exactly what you are referring to, if you perform the physical As Salaat as described in Al Quran. That means that you perform it at the times prescribed by Allah in Al Quran, in the manner prescribed by reciting the words of Al Quran and then also "understanding" them. The reason to understand what you are reciting is important is that it is the understanding of this repeticious reciting of Al Quran that sinks deep into the sub conscious to purify your "thoughts" for later use. When enough of the understanding of Al Quran has been recited into your sub conscious, just as you mentioned about thoughts that come to you not of your own free will, in the necessary situations, the recitations will come to your mind to remind you of what is proper from the guidance of Allah, if you understand those recitations. If you simply recite but don't understand what you said, it is just mumble jumble in your sub conscious and can't be recalled upon in your thoughts to produce results. Either way, they are just reminders and one still has to "aslam" or submit to follow the guidance once they are reminded of it. That is what makes one a "mu'min", because they have trusting faith in the guidance given to them from Allah so that they are able to follow it when they are reminded of it; whether that be by someone else, or their own sub conscious mind produces thoughts of rememberance from Al Quran for them. This is maybe why Allah says that the rememberance/thinking on Him is the greatest thing, even greater than As Salaat. Because As Salaat is actually what pre-programs your sub conscious mind to remember Allah and His guidance. Therefore, the realization of remembering Allah and His guidance in any particular situation is greater because you have achieved the goal of As Salaat, to remember Allah and His guidance; and to submit to it above your own will.

        As Salaamu Alaikum, peace

Yes Kyle, it would be very interesting to hear more from you!

Have you had any experience from the Silva Method? In a nutshell, it also teaches that you can receive divine guidance and inspiration when your brain vibrates at the alpha frequency (round about 10 Hz), because it is at this frequency you can establish a good connection with yourself and the rest of the universe.

            Peace!

              Peace be upon you Ayman,

I agree with what you said and I would like to learn more from you. My understanding of "salat" is not that different from yours.

Yes, very similar. I only state that we need to go a little deeper with it. There is a LAW deep within this concept that objectively ensures success. The general understanding of "education" as informing someone of something is not enough as can be witnessed by many examples, even our own experiences confirm that just by being informed, it does not give us the "power" to change. Most people know right and wrong, are "educated" on right and wrong, but why dont they change? Why dont we change ourselves in our own experiences? That is the question that should drive us deeper.

I guess I see "salat" as more fundamental. For example, how did you arrive at the above wisdom?

It was taught to me and I studied and verified its accuracy and now I am asking all who seek knowledge to do the same. We are encouraged to listen to all ideas and follow the best, meaning the way that is verifyable.

              It is through "salat".

I would say it was through messengership, meaning someone who had the answer passed the information to me....but the key here is even though I now have this information, and I have your information, and I have everyone elses information on this thread, does it follow that this information will change me? The information is not enough, we must now have a PROCESS to take that information and reprogram the part of our being that is responsible for carrying out what we will, the energy part of our being, the Nafs(subconcious). It is of utmost importance that we realize the Nafs is our vehicle and it is not the SELF(our identity). It is a THING that we are responsible for ruling. He who purifies it succeeds and he who corrupts it fails.

It is interesting that you mention "he who purifies it succeeds and he who corrupts it fails" from Chapter 91 because I think that this is "zakat"/purification, which is closely tied to "salat". So our purifying or our "re-programming" is tied to "salat".

Please let me know what you think.

Absolutely, we maintain the programming in order to bring forth purification of the subconcious(nafs). Zakaat(purification) is the EFFECT of the programming(salaat), which is why they are mentioned together al the time. I do not see Zakaat itself as the programming because programming is the YANG force, the MALE planting of the seed, the cause.......zakaat is the YIN force, the FEMALE recieving of the seed, and gestating the seed to give birth to a new path (new nueron connection). Please ask any question to begin talking about this further, I am not sure where to start.

I dont know much about scientology, but if science is really being used, they have no choice but to sound similar or exact. Thats the beauty of God's Mercy, life is created based on LAW, so that our path is eased and we dont have to guess and believe, but instead verify and KNOW! hail

My Lord(teacher) increase me in KNOWLEDGE! ;D

But to pick up on your train of thoughts, As Salaat does exactly what you are referring to, if you perform the physical As Salaat as described in Al Quran. Yes reptition is a very important part of this process, but I do not agree with the literal bowing and prostrating because it is a metaphoric message and the method of the sunnis is not verifyable.

When enough of the understanding of Al Quran has been recited into your sub conscious, just as you mentioned about thoughts that come to you not of your own free will, in the necessary situations, the recitations will come to your mind to remind you of what is proper from the guidance of Allah, if you understand those recitations. I hear and understand what you are saying...but how about those things in your life that you wish to change and state you will change but keep on doing? Like a certain diet or saving money, etc.....even though you recite verses regularly, why dont these things change? Becaus there is a process that involves more than just words repeated a.k.a. education. We must also be in a receptive state because , to use an analogy, even though the man can release the seed whenever he wants, the female is only receptive at certain times. So yes, we win some and lose some in the education only understanding. Yes, with just education, some people do change because they luck up and plant seeds during a receptive time. Prime Time as the advertisers might call it (hmmmm?). But there is a sure way to get your mind into a receptive state of your own commanding....we command the Malaika, they prostrate to us. We call them out (edu-cate means to draw out). Any way, I am all over the place so I hope it is coming across clear, if not I will continue to elaborate.

                As Salaamu Alaikum,

Peace be upon you as well

I am not familiar with "silva" but I am familiar with the fact that we have brain wave frequencies that must be adjusted to put ourselves in a receptive state so that we can program or subconcious successfully over a series of repitions of verbal thoughts and mental images. It is also taught that once you do this and continue to do this, you will reach a level where divine intuition will come to you(prohet) and all people have this potential, but just as all people have the POTENTIAL to become Tiger Woods, or Michael Jordan, only a select few will do the work necessary to become these people.

Can you provide evidence from al quran for the above?

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                          peace drfazl, all,

Can you provide evidence from al quran for the above?

                          Salam Wakas

The above is my life based on the revelation that I observed from Quran because of my seeking of His Blessings

                          I see Quran as a wholesome entity;
                          Quran as guidance in righteousness-
                          Salat is seeking the same all through life;
And I live through the life guaranteed in the Book.
And there is salam all the way-
For Allah does not go back on His Promise.

Please note, I am not saying your understanding or application is wrong, I am not concerned with that, all I want to see is an evidence-based discussion, hence my question.

I am not concerned with any other evidence either; other than the evidence obtained through one's own application/verification of the verses in real life. So salat is the real effort towards achieving salam and this is from the essentials of quran.
