Peace Wakas
To take responsibility for the choices one makes in ones life.
To live an organized and ordered life .
To continuously work to develop one self and help develop those who want help to develop .
To live and work in a ethical manner.
To uphold the values of earth ,care people care and fare share for all .
To uphold the right to defend one self and those who are not able to defend them selves.
To respect people there property and their beliefs.
To work to free one self from all forms of in enslavement be it political, religious ,financial or from an individual be it a deity or person .
just some of the thoughts that have come in to my mind hope they are of help Wakas.

Government must be by public decree and no-one should hold office without this.
Right to life and the protection of it.
War in self-defence only.
Violence against the individual/group is wrong in all it's forms, whether indirect or direct.
Citizens should form armed militias to protect the country.
That currency must always be backed to something of value and must be controlled by the citizens/government and never a private institution.
Individual taxation must be kept below 5% and taxes may only be raised after referenda unless an emergency dictates otherwise.
Right to free speech and the dissemination of free ideas.
That government's role is the protection of the constitution and ensuring that laws are upheld.
I would love to live in the above country!

Isn't a constitution a document whereby the role of government is established?
To take responsibility for the choices one makes in ones life.
Like it, but not really part of a constitution.
To live an organized and ordered life .
I think this is creating a nanny state!
To uphold the values of earth ,care people care and fare share for all .
Who determines the 'values of earth'?
To uphold the right to defend one self and those who are not able to defend them selves.
To respect people there property and their beliefs.
To work to free one self from all forms of in enslavement be it political, religious ,financial or from an individual be it a deity or person .
Like these ones!

peace all,
I was thinking, let's say you had to choose 5-10 laws to make a constitution for a community/country, what would they be? For people to live by.
It doesn't have to be Quran based, just whatever you feel, or a mix.
Please share.
Thanks.
Salaam,
According to The Qur?aan, there exist THREE MAIN ARTICLES OF FAITH, which together and hand-in-hand, comprise the CONSTITUTION of ISLAM. These three main articles are defined, and declared to be obligatory on the part of Muslims to believe-in theme. The outstanding and classical examples of numerous verses in The Qur?aan regarding these three articles of faith are verses 262 and 569.
262,
569,
Let us define these ARTICLES.
1st Believing-in, worshipping, and obeying the ONE and ONLY GOD, ALLAH (swt).
2nd Believing-in the coming of the LAST DAY and the ultimate JUDGMENT, the aim and the end result, i.e., the PURPOSE of the CREATION/evolution of the UNIVERSE.
3rd LEADING A RIGHTEOUS CONSTRUCTIVE LIFE while living here on Earth.
The first two are mainly PHILOSOPHICAL beliefs and do not have much to do with our everyday life ACTIONS. BUT; when it comes to the third ARTICLE, it is a completely different story. Here, our faith/religion is materialized and defined based completely on our LIFESTYLE, period! In other words, you are what you eat!
The Qur?aan almost 100% of the time defines the believers as those who believe +/AND lead a RIGHTEOUS CONSTRUCTIVE LIFESTYLE/?AMILA SAALIHAN. This third article is imperative in completing the belief in ISLAM, as a whole ideological school.
A good example of the definition of this third article is the verse 2177 among other numerous verses.
2177,
The third article of faith in Islam is all about the real deal, i.e. ACTION, ACTION, ACTION, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, LIFESTYLE, LIFESTYLE, and again, LIFESTYLE. It is about the PHYSICAL/TANGIBLE community ACTIONS in bringing about a better living to everyday life of individual self and the Muslim community as a whole.

To many of us leave responsibility to others and then cry when things do not go there way .I believe self responsibility has a very important part to play in any constitution.
Organization and order in ones life does not mean they belong to a nanny state . By the way I do not agree with big or small states that in it self is enslavement .

Peace all,
Thanks for the feedback so far. I started this thread to get an idea on people's fundamental laws, and what they see as The Quran's core, as I feel they often go hand in hand.
To add to what has been said
Equivalence in Justice, never more, but can be less.
Freedom of belief.
All for one and one for all citizens to protect one another against violation of their human rights.

Greetings and peace, all group
I'd have to say that I'd touch on what the secular humanists have to say. Mainly the following points
Free Inquiry
Separation Of Church And State
The Ideal Of Freedom
Ethics Based On Critical Intelligence
Moral Education
Reason
Science And Technology
Educationhttp//www.secularhumanism.org/index.php?page=declaration§ion=main
I believe that all of these points follow the guidance of Allah through the Qur'an--and as such would be a great starting point.
