From the "Last Sermon" (which is reported with three different endings)

"Four months there are which are inviolable, three in a row and forth by itself Dhul Qa?da, Dhul Hijja, and Muharram; and Rajab, which lies between Jumada and Sha?ban. Have I given the message? -- O Allah, be my witness."

Here is the Qur'an-alone viewpoint (exluding 19-Code evidence)

The four sacred months are Zul-Hijjah, Muharram, Safar and Rabi? I (12th, 1st, 2nd and 3rd months). The name of the first is self-explanatory whilst Rabi? is derived from the root word Araba (meaning ?four?). There are two months in the lunar calendar with the name Rabi?; the third month Rabi? I and the fourth month Rabi?II. Use of the word in the fourth month is understandable, whilst its use in the third suggests that it is the fourth sacred month.

The Qur?an implies in verses 91-5 that the sacred months are consecutive, and these revelations according to Maududi took place during Zil-Qa?adah, the month directly before Zul-Hijjah.

?So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will bring disgrace to the unbelievers.?

    Qur?an 92

There are FOUR MONTHS allowed for Hajj, not ten days...

"The pilgrimage is (performed in) the well-known months; so whoever determines the performance of the pilgrimage therein, there shall be no intercourse nor fornication nor quarrelling amongst one another; and whatever good you do, Allah knows it; and make provision, for surely the provision is the guarding of oneself, and be careful (of your duty) to Me, O men of understanding."

    Qur'an 2197

According to the "sacred months" of tradition, the context of verses 91-5 would be in Rajab and hence there would have to be five or six months still to pass before the sacred months were over. According to Maududi (a Sunni scholar) the context fits perfectly the four CONSECUTIVE sacred months described above

Which would you believe? I am interested to know how about how many people are actually reported to have been present at the Last Sermon. The sacred months are the only major difference between "traditional" and Qur'an-alone Islam (keeping in my mind we have all the basics without the unnecessary additions which Sunnis etc. call law).

If someone could provide all the hadith material on sacred months and who reported the last sermon, it would be much appreciated also. The Final Sermon is supposed to be the most authentic hadith (with over 100,000 witnesses apparently).

Logic says that the months have been tempered with, people use to count years using the sun and not the moon in the time of mohamed, the moon was used to count 30 days or something, as a start point to count days
      Months like
Muharam is the 1st month sacred HOUROUM
JUMADI means freeze, this means that this months is always in winter time
Dhu kiida is the month they sit from wars
Dhu hijja is a month they performed Hajj

Rabii 1 rabii 2 means spring, and spring comes only in spring times and not is summer or winter as it is now in the lunar system
Also , the 1st surahs in the quran are the surahs that communicate to mohamed that he is a messenger of god, and there are two that must be the first sourahs, sourah 74, end sourah 73 , these sourahs show that the quran was sent down in winter time, just like moses when he saw the fire and wated to bring a bush so they can warm up
they tempered also with the 1st surahs in the quran so they remove ramadan from it's fixed time
the 4 months has to be succeddive, and they are separate now
all these were done by satanic thinkers in the past , and a few satanic from our time as people who , instead of understanding the sourah74 as the 1st sourah that ask the messeger to warn, and for us to know that ramadan was in the winter, they inserted digits and code to confuse more people from the simple truth.

the 4 sacred months are sccesif and not seperate
