Advice on how to bring a terminally ill person to belief in God?
-
Peace All, '(
I just learned that my brother (biological) is dying from Terminal cancer, could be a couple of months. He's been a staunch unbeliever all his life and I'm pretty sure he won't turn to belief by himself. Is there anyone out there, who has any experience or advice on how to bring a terminally ill person to believe in God, I mean only God can do that, but we can be an instrument right?
Grateful for any advice.

I pray that your brother may make the transit as painlessly and as sincerely as possible. Do not dispair. Many staunch "unbelievers" are not such, rather they refuse to believe in some opium that will make life less painful, or refuse to believe in something that for them goes together with fanatism, narrow-mindedness, wars, etc. as opposed to those unbelievers that really don't believe in anything and behave lik people without a soul. Many atheists and agnostics in fact believe in truth and believe in those names of God that should rule human behaviour. Some people may consider them unbelievers, but I don't think they are such.
So if you are going to say something to your brother, unless you are really sure that he doesn't believe in anything, you should talk to him as if indeed he is a believer, who has done good things in life, and let him dentify as such faithful person and with his most noble aspirations, talk of good inspiring things which are of this life and of the next, but do not try to "convert him" if he himself doesn't let you know you would be welcome to that. Be a good company to him and be trustful and pray.
Salaam
Salaam Huruf,
Thanx for your advice which I will follow to the best of my ability. handshake

Peace G.Omar,
I hope you don't mind me asking,
Why do you think he's a disbeliever?
Ask yourself disbeliever in what and why?
Peace, peace
Perhaps I should have said Atheist, because that's how he describes himself. He does not believe in any god, nor in an afterlife. No I don't mind you asking.
