Hi Br's ,
I am sure you know what it says in the current quran but here is what it says in the one that is supposed to be 1400 years old.

If a person doesn't have much knowledge of what its all about , then just ask yourself if God Allmighty or anybody for that matter asked you to slaughter your small child for a horrendous reason, what on earth would you say and do as a person full of Righteousness??
I think that might be what our great leader Abraham might have done also.
Thanks All.

Salaam,
I do not believe the Quran was changed, I believe people have blindly followed the Biblical story and thus neglected the Arabic words. Why would God repeat a story when it can be found in the Bible? No, God corrects the story by giving the real account that has nothing to do with religion or worship or senseless orders. God shows the real missions that were about liberating Mankind.
37102 And when he was old enough to strive along with him, Abraham
said, ?O My dear son! I have a vision that I must give you to a life of test
and tribulation for a Noble cause (37107). So look, what do you think??
He said, ?O My father! Do what you are commanded. God willing, you
will find me of the steadfast.?37103 As both of them had surrendered themselves (to God), he made
Ishmael prostrate on his forehead in gratitude.37104 We called unto him, ?O Abraham!
37105 You have already affirmed the vision. We ? This is so - We must
reward the doers of good.37106 This was a trial, clear in itself.
37107 We exchanged his life for a Momentous Sacrifice.
37108 And We left for him remembrance among the later generations.37103 uses Al-Jabin which generally means being a coward or weak-hearted. When people said Huwa Jabin Al-Kalb, it means "His dog is a coward." This refered you were a generous and friendly host as your dog did not growl or bark at the guests. It is cowardice created out of love for a person. Akhtar Sherazi says in his Tafseer that Al-Jabin also means to "kiss a person on the forehead out of love and affection as you are weakhearted to that person."
To say Al-Jabin is to put someone on its forehead to slaughter the person is completely wrong I believe as this does not coincide with the root meaning.
I agree myself with Akhtar Sherazi's understanding that Abraham grabbed his son by the temples to kiss him out of affection as this is Al-Jabin=The space between the temples near the hairline, affection, weakness out of love, cowardice out of affection.

Salaam bro,
It is always good to check other Quran Manuscripts, but must be very careful in any conclusions.
Even if the FaLa would be a Waw, the meaning wouldn't change that much I believe, it will remain "And When" in 37103, the important word in this verse Jabin.
With Sadaqta, you say it is just DaqA? I couldn't find a meaning for this word, plus does the Alif be part of the root?

you are absolutely right - but pitty the only other oldest qurans is in turkey and they don't let anybody see it- i think.

Salaam bro,
As always I keep an open mind, but I agree with Shabbir and Sherazi that the words are misunderstood because of the Jewish influence. I need to see more proof before I can agree on this subject. But it is a good reminder we alos need to research all manuscripts.

Peace All.
Abraham's (so called satanic) dream has been troubling my mind since long, here are my thoughts.
Abraham sees a dream in which he finds himself slaughtering/sacrificing his son.
As most of the dreams are encrypted ,so actually what God meant by this dream for Abraham was to commit /give away/ dedicate his son in the way of Allah for propagating the Message.
God never meant this dream to be literally interpreted
Abraham ,who was a dedicated servant of God (but probably was not an expert in dream interpretation), took it literally and told his son about it.
The son accepted and submitted.
and when they were about to perform the misunderstood deed,,,,,,
God saw their erred interpretation and absolute devotion,so he ransomed it with some other kind of "Sadqa" , preserved their story , chose them as "Nabieen" to carry out a very difficult task, and bestowed upon them the highest rank.
does it solve the paradox?
peace

Salam,
My view
-
Abraham`s vision was from God 37105;
-
It was in responce to the prayer of Abraham for God to show them their rites made in 2128;
-
The message was that the animal sacrifice is a great cornerstone in God`s system equivalent to giving the life of your own flesh and blood - hence the animal sacrifice in Hajj 2236.
