    Peace,

You mean you don't prefer the little leather straps of covering that Samia supports? o You prefer seamless fabric over the iron covers that are also used as manhole covers? rotfl I am really happy to see that you women have so many choices to cover your chest area with iron, wood, plastic, etc., etc., etc....and let's not forget the ultimate seemless fabric if someone chooses? (btw, what does "seemless" have to do with anything? ??? )

But whatever you do, DEFINITELY DON'T EVER USE A HEADSCARF ON YOUR HEAD TO SPREAD OVER YOUR CHEST AREA! confused Spread the iron, just make sure it is hot before trying to spread it! rotfl rotfl rotfl

    Peace,

I have no clue why you laughing?
If someone order me to cover my breast today I would put on a bra and then a t-shirt or a blouse, my normal clothes so to speak.

Back then, if they only wear a skirt and nothing upper, that would be logic to take a seemless fabric and tie around your chest. I see nothing strange in this at all. But I do feel strange if someone order me to cover my chest and then said I must hang my fabric over my head and then cover my chest, hmm very strange command not very smart )

      Peace,

I see you lack a sense of humor. So let me help you. Spreading hot iron over your chest area would burn. So if a "khimaar" is anything that covers, then that could be included by definition. So it is being sarcastic to prove that for "khimaar" to be just "anything that covers", is not a realistic definition of the term in the context in which it is used in Al Quran. duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. !

Let me guess, you are also of the opinion that all the women were running around naked back then also? o Have you people that think this ever thought about the ayaat dealing with jilbaab and other clothing? What about the ones that talk about your times of undress? How can you have times of undress if you are already naked? ??? brickwall I just wanted to do that! ignore

Please, wise up and get off this ride that "khimaar" means a table cloth or any type of cover that you want it to mean including bra. By the way, how do you spread a bra over your chest area? & rotfl

      As Salaamu Alaikum, peace

I just say Oh My God!!!!!!

I really pity people who try to be ironic when in matter of fact they are only playing with words.

God never runs out of words and He didn't put a head cover fabric in Quran because then he will name it something with head or hair so people would not mistakenly get it wrong.

I wonder really if it was you males who were the ones who was suposed to wear a khimar on your head, if you were so happy to defend it voodoo

I see no commands of headcovering so ever in Quran and really no meaning for God to give one either.

To dress modest and act modest is a rather better way for all to take, both males and females.

Can you show my any clear command of the Al-Quran to cover the body except for genital and boob s?
So according to your logic The Al-Quran allows a woman to be completely naked except to cover genitals and breasts.
Congratulations to Porn stars for this "Quranic certificate'

When some one clear cut denies command of Al-quran and at the same time pretends to be a Muslim it hurts and then one has to issue such statements. This statement is wake up call for those who want to change Quran according to their wishes.
Do not try to be Irshad Menji dear females over here, just be bold like Elke, and tell us that if Quran says cover your head you reject the God who ordered it.

                  Peace,

In my opinion this is not rejecting a command from God. God have told us to search for knowledge. And once again why on earth using a word that has so many meanings if it was so important to know exactly where and how to use this word!?

So, I must say I defend God and Quran when I stand against nonsense added of people who just follow fairy tales and such.

Quran is a scripture that is supposed to be read and followed forever here on earth and honestly I haven't found anything discriminating against females in Quran but i have found a load of it in Hadiths and in comments from so called sheicks and ulamas.

I don't know why it is so difficult for some to understand that khimar is a piece of fabric that can cover something that is supposed to be covered.

And if someone order me to cover my breast, would I then cover my arms instead? I mean it's really silly, admit it!!!

I think you who still insist that khimar is a headcovering, if you drop that comments in the braclets in the dictonaries then you will get another view of it.

And one other silly thing is, if khimar is a headcovering, why on earth use it to cover a table or a window? I mean one thing for each cause.

                  Peace

Yes search for knowldge but without bias. I think you should read the verse of Quran once more and then try to translate it, it will make every thing clear or the better option is ask any one who knows arabic well that the word used in the context of that particular Ayat; what does it mean?

Actually when you start reading the Ayat, you have already decided that God cannot order such a thing and there the problem starts, you will try to find out each and every other meaning of the word that suites your thoughts no matter how funny they might be.
IQO has already discussed this in detail.

I have read that verse so many times and I have asked people who know Arabic about it and khimar is not a special name for a headcover. They have other names for headcovers such as hijab, niqaab.

And things in the context and footnotes are other peoples views, how trustworthy are they?

Quran should be read and able to follow without Ulamas, so therefore I don't wear a headcover because Quran don't order it.

And I rather trust sis Samia than IQO an American African, but that's my personal option of course

You are too much! You YOURSELF said this to me in another thread. Go back and research your own posts, or anyone can, and you will see what you said about your not following Al Quran but instead following the "Law of Attraction" as you "God". You can't claim to be a follower of Al Quran because you agree with the parts that fit in with the "Law of Attraction". Sorry sweetie, it doesn't work that way! voodoo

And you are a racist, you said because I am an "african american". You could have said male, or even american, and then I would have found something different to call you. But you labelled yourself by your own words ...and I am therefore calling a spade a spade and a pig a pig! elektro

I uphold Quran million times more than you ever will do. You are just an annoying wanna be Quran aloner as I have said before and i guess more than I feel annoyed by your presence on this forum. It's like you want to stick your ugly nose into everything. I pity you really I do and I pity your family if you have one.

Lol, I never want to reply or read anything ridiculous you post, because i have alot better things to do.

                                      END OF STORY!!!!!!!!

The one who replies to this only show they are blind because they cannot read.
