Ancient history: how does it relate to the Qur'an

this is going to be an ongoing topic of research and i dont have time right now to introduce the information i want to, but please come back later for some of the things that have been discovered that may explain the more mysterious references in the Qur'an, including our past, creation, the flood and what the Jinn and angels really might be.
in each case we will explore things in the framework of the Qur'an and how it validates past events and current mysteries, and how they might be interpreted in the light of greater understanding and more complete information.
as always this should never detract from the teachings of the Qur'an, but merely offer a better understanding of some things that were very hard to convey with no frame of reference for people of Muhammad's day (pbuh) to compare them to.
