i use Mohammed Asad, as well. it's got beautiful and thoughtful commentary, original Arabic, and transliteration. yay

i also use the free-minds translation, too, and am in the process of typing out a chronological Quran based on that translation. peace

I've read a couple of versus, but I do think he is influenced by the Jews vs. Muslims vs. Christians thing that goes on the middle east - thus you do get a biased view against Jews and Christians to a certain degree.

I agree. When the copy of Muhammad Asad's 'the message of the Quran' arrived (I ordered it online) - it is simply a work of art. It definitely does justice to the Quran being displayed in such a beautiful manner.

            peace,

agentxxx, has "aidid safar" released a Quran translation in book form? Is it online anywhere?

ayani, by chronological Quran, what method are you using?

kaiwai, it doesn't really matter if one uses Yusuf Ali as a trans, as long as one approaches it (and all trans.) in an intelligent manner.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

The best way is ofcourse to interact with the Arabic text itself and dictionaries.

Translations are an interpretation of an observation. What I have learned from Muhammed Asad, Parwez, Shabbir and Ahmed Ali is how to use the Quran itself in the interpretation.

For several months me and Maxq are making our own translation.

                    peace sister ayani,

I dont think I've ever studied the chronological order to see if it was valid or not, so cant say. I thought you may have meant sorting it based on content, hence asking.

Peace wakas, no bro I don't have his translation in a book form, I only have his translation of the first two chapters which I had downloaded from his website http//aididsafar.com/translation.html I did the mistake of saving it in the same folder where I have all the complete translations stored and when I was posting my reply, I just checked my collection saw his name there and included his name in the list.
please accept my apology for the mistake.

                      peace
